As the entry-level cuvée to the Agrapart range, a considerable amount of pride and care is taken in the production of Les 7 Crus Brut, named for its composition consisting of fruit from 7 different villages across the region. Blended across two vintages to create a consistent expression of the style Pascal Agrapart hopes to covey through his particular wines, 90% Chardonnay is assisted by a 10% portion of Pinot Noir to add depth and generosity. It remains, in the words of William Kelley (Wine Advocate), “an ample, incisive wine, with racy acids and a saline finish”.
Based on the 2019 vintage and disgorged in April 2022, Agrapart's NV Brut 7 Crus wafts from the glass with scents of crisp green apple, freshly baked bread, white flowers and buttery pastry. Medium to full-bodied, fleshy and enveloping, it's an ample, incisive wine, with racy acids and a saline finish. When the range begins like this, you know you're in the presence of one of Champagne's greatest producers.

The NV Brut Blanc de Blancs Premier Cru 7 Crus is a lovely, introductory-level Champagne from Agrapart. Bright and focused, but also with more than enough mid-palate richness to be accessible upon release, the 7 Crus is super-expressive today. The inclusion of 10% Pinot Noir a few years back has changed the 7 Crus in a meaningful way in making the wine more accessible in its youth. The creamy, spiced finish is hugely appealing, but there is a lot to like here, including the wine's overall balance. This release is a blend of equal parts 2013 and 2012. The seven villages in the blend are Avize, Oger, Oiry, Cramant, Avenay Val d’Or, Bergères les Vertus and Mardeuil.
Floral and fresh, this elegant version offers hints of blackberry, slivered almond, tangy apple and smoky mineral riding a tightly knit, silky texture.
(lot #01 on the label) Very pale, silver-straw color. Fresh and crisp on the nose, showing bright citrus and fresh butter aromas enlivened by a salty, mineral tang. Medium in weight, with a supple, silky mouth feel and gentle citrus flavors, especially orange and tangerine. This has sneaky finishing flavors of soft citrus fruits. Offers an enticing combination of supple texture and understated but crisp flavor. .
