It seems that no one explained to Denis Durantou that a winemaker's entry-level range needn't be so amazingly high in quality. I think we can all agree he is best left in the dark on this point, because his wines are fantastic, from the cheapest up to the iconic, yet-to-be-released, l'Eglise-Clinet.
The Wine Advocate's Neal Martin says it as perfectly as ever; "the impressive thing with Denis Durantou is the accomplishment shown across his entire range". These superbly priced Right Bank beauties are excellent, with few better values on the planet.
"How many times does this man need to prove that he can deliver in every vintage?" asks Decanter, and with good reason. Even in the maligned 2013 vintage he produced stunning wines, so imagine what he can do with a great year like 2016!
Durantou’s stable is always one of our favourites. Every year it sells out so fast that there is barely time for us to get our hands on our annual cases!
These are great wines to stock up on. They will drink well on release and for the following decade.
