Wine Advocate (92-94)The finest wine this estate has produced in some time is the 2022 Cantemerle, a blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot and 5% Cabernet Franc that bursts from the glass with aromas of sweet blackberries, violets, rose petals and spices. Medium to full-bodied, ample and fleshy, with an enveloping core of sweet, perfumed fruit framed by supple tannin, it concludes with a long, mouthwatering finish. The pH is a very healthy 3.6 this year, and yields were low at 29 hectoliters per hectare. |

Jane Anson Inside Bordeaux (94)Heavy clay soils before you hit limestone here, and the wine delivers unusual levels of sappy, pummice stone, juicy austerity for the vintage. Almost a granite edge to the tannins, floral aromatic intensity, bring blue and red fruits, and subtle spices of dill, sage and saffran. Excellent quality and value. 35hl/h yield, 30% new oak. |

James Suckling (95-96)This is long and fresh with a linear feeling to the rich fruit, showing plums, redcurrants and spices, with chocolate and walnuts. Medium to full body. Fine tannins. This is the first year being certified biodynamic from Demeter and furthermore, La Lagune is always excellent in hot years. |

Jane Anson Inside Bordeaux (92)Inky, intense, slate and crushed stone character, clear Left Bank quality, with liquorice, black chocolate, sleek texture. Enjoyable but a little struggling to break free of the vintage. |

Jane Anson Inside Bordeaux (92)Firm slightly drying tannins, grilled smoked leather, fleshy blackberry and raspberry fruit. The tannins close things in on the close of play, narrowing through the palate, emphasising bitter orange and saffron, with slate and liquorice. Struggles to gain balance, but it gets there, and is a well constructed wine with Left Bank signature. 33% new oak barrels for ageing. |

Jane Anson Inside Bordeaux (93)Deeply coloured, fleshy damson, high extraction, edges of aniseed and fennel, black pepper. This is good quality with texture and tannins that hold things in place, adding relief and interest, definitely one of the ones to look out for in Haut-Medoc. Five generations of women owners, and now also with Basile Tesseron, ex-Lafon Rochet. |

The Wine Independent (92-94)A blend of 75% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2022 Montlandrie has a deep garnet-purple color. It comes bounding out with eager-to-please notes of wild blueberries, kirsch, and violets, leading to hints of wet slate, tilled soil, and mossy tree bark. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is generous and juicy with ripe, rounded tannins and bags of freshness, finishing with a spicy kick. |

Jane Anson Inside Bordeaux (94)Slap bang in the Haut-MŽdoc for this one, classic Left Bank with glass-staining purple in colour, slate and cassis, graphite and crushed stones, this is manages to be both muscular and restrained, exuberant and understated. Has the concentration of the vintage but controls it well - one to look out for, and proof that gravel could work in the heat of the vintage if the location is right, and the vineyard was treated carefully. |
