Clos L'Église Pomerol 2020 has done exceptionally well and with the excellent 2020 vintage, has produced “three super wines in a row since 2018” (Suckling, 96-97 points). Awarding 95-97+ points, the highest he has awarded this estate in a decade, Dunnuck thinks the 2020 vintage is “a beauty that’s going to match the magical 2009 and 2016”, lauding how the wine delivers concentration and yet “stays and delicate and ethereal”. Galloni was equally impressed by the impeccable balance, awarding 95-97 points, his highest ever for this estate. A massive drinking window out to 2050.

Clos L'Eglise

Chateau Clos L’Eglise is a tiny right bank property on the Pomerol plateau. It was purchased by the Garcin-Cathiard family in 1997. They have overseen huge investment and rapid transformation and their wines popularity has rocketed. The wine is rich, full bodied, lavish with plum, chocolate and floral notes. In an average year, only 1200 cases per year are produced.
