Since the first vintage in 2005, Continuum has grown in quality and stature among drinkers, collectors and investors. Of 12 vintages made of the proprietary red blend, seven have been rated 98 points or above, but the latest release 2016 is likely Tim's greatest vinous achievement to date. With 99 points from the Wine Advocate and 100 points from James Suckling, this is a magnificent accomplishment.

The 2016 Continuum is a Bordeaux blend of 46% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Cabernet Franc, 18% Petit Verdot and 5% Merlot. 2016 was a slightly cooler growing season, producing a smaller than normal crop that benefited from an extended hang time. The resulting wine is powerful and expansive, with cassis, dark fruits, bergamot, dried wild herb, and notes of cigar box and leather. This wine will drink until 2048 and is made in very small quantities (approx. 1,300 cases a year). As such, it will remain a collector’s darling for decades to come.

Producer

Continuum is the project of Tim Mondavi, whose father, Robert Mondavi, was the great visionary of high quality for Napa Valley's wines. After the sale of the iconic Robert Mondavi company, Tim established a new winery on Pritchard Hill, not far from Bryant Family Vineyard and Colgin Estate. There Mondavi legacy lives on ("continues") in the form of Continuum Estate.
