Red-ruby color is less deep than that of the Bourgogne. Subtle scents of redcurrant, iron, crushed rock and tobacco. Supple and quite dry, with a lively mineral component keeping the fruit and smoke flavors under wraps in the early going. Much more about soil and structure than primary fruit, and the serious tannins will require at least a couple years of patience upon release.
