De Trafford Cabernet Sauvignon 2008 (6x75cl)
The 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon is de-stemmed and raised in 40% new oak for 23 months. It has a tightly wound bouquet of blackberry, black plum and fresh dates that is well defined. The palate has a toasty entry with a charcoal tincture. The acidity is in tune with the oaky black fruit, while the finish is sweet, with a slight bitter edge. Drink now-2016.

The De Trafford wine estate is the source for some of South Africa's most well-made wines. Quality here is driven by the experimental attitude of trained architect-turned-winemaker David Trafford. The wine-making style is based entirely upon the potential of the vine and the fruit itself. Minimal intervention in the cellar and the gentlest of touches allow the wine to develop at its own pace and develop a true sense of place and terroir-driven expression.
