Dom Pérignon 2002 is one of Cru's all-time best selling fine wines. Today, it is a staple buy for drinkers and collectors/investors alike. But Dom Pérignon P2 is a step up in quality, rarity and desirability. “P2” stands for “2nd Plénitude” (Plénitude = peak of expression).

Dom Pérignon P2 is made from the same fabulous grapes as standard Dom Pérignon. But it is matured for on the lees (dead yeast cells) for nearly 16 years, as opposed to 9 years for the standard Champagne. As a result, each release of Plénitude has a distinct character, and this makes it even more interesting to devoted Champagne lovers.

The Dom Pérignon P2 2002 is a phenomenal effort. With up to 97+ points (Galloni) to its credit, the Wine Advocate describes it as "a ripe and powerful Dom Pérignon that finds its closest stylistic analogy in the 1990 vintage".

Dom Perignon

About Dom Pérignon The fable of the legendary 17th-century monk who invented champagne crying that he had "tasted the stars" is a familiar one to many oenophiles across the globe. Regrettably, this story is almost certainly inaccurate - his name does, however, live on as the prestige cuvée of powerhouse Champagne Maison Moët & Chandon.   First released by the famed house in 1937, this wine represents the culmination of rigorous selection and review processes in both the vineyard and the winery. Thanks to its size and reach, Moët & Chandon has a remarkable choice of absolutely outstanding Grands and 1ers Crus from which to source the grapes for its greatest cuvée.
