Domaine des Héritiers Louis Jadot Chevalier-Montrachet Les Demoiselles Grand Cru 2019 (3x75cl)
The vineyard of Chevalier-Montrachet is situated immediately above the portion of Le Montrachet lying in Puligny and directly bordering Chassagne. It covers 1.4 hectares producing an extremely limited yield of 23,000 bottles of wine in an average year, or 23.6 hectolitres per hectare.
Within this Grand Cru Climat is Les Demoiselles (young ladies) vineyard, a 1.28 hectare parcel which was purchased in 1794 by the first members of Louis Henri Denis Jadot’s family to arrive in Beaune from Belgium. It remained among the Louis Jadot properties until 1887, when, due to a deed of division, it passed out of the family’s hands. Several years later it was re-acquired through a joint-purchase effort initiated by Domaine des Héritiers Louis Jadot and Domaine Louis Latour, who today remain equal owners of Les Demoiselles.
From its half a hectare of vines in Les Demoiselles, Maison Louis Jadot produces limited quantities of this exquisite Grand Cru. Its golden colour and intense fragrance of toast and honey predict the rich, mellow fruit flavours, velvety elegance and intense finish of this exceptionally graceful wine.
The 2019 Chevalier-Montrachet Demoiselles Grand Cru is beautifully defined on the nose, featuring wonderful crushed limestone and gunflint scents that permeate the green apple aromas. Very focused and intense. The palate is extremely well balanced with a powerful opening, very saline and so full of energy. Enormous weight and presence toward the finish. This is an outstanding Chevalier-Montrachet from Jadot.

Cask sample. Some evolution already on the nose. And then citrus and oak cocktail with acidity that should all settle down eventually to provide a lot of pleasure. Real edginess. Long.
