Cogno's iconic Ravera Cru is a historical Cru that has gained global prestige in recent years. Situated on a south-facing slope, this old vineyard is composed of calcareous soil, which adds elegance and structure. The wines offer a delicate aroma, sapid flavour, and great complexity.

The Ravera Barolo 2016 is produced in tiny quantities (2,500 cases only). Sourced from vines planted in 1961 and 1970, the 2016 exhibits "softly contoured" tannins and "terrific balance and depth". Scoring a whopping 97+ points by Monica Larner, it boasts great potential to age gracefully until 2045.

Elvio Cogno

This small, family-run estate in Piemonte is known as a benchmark for quality among Barolo producers. Occupying 15 hectares in Novello, 11 of which fall in the renowned Ravera there is a clear focus on top-end wines at Elvio Cogno. Regularly achieving high scores and praise from the critics, this is one of the best producers in Piemonte, if not Italy as a whole.
