The Pierre Girardin Puligny-Montrachet Les Enseigneres 2021 is a sterling expression of French winemaking expertise. Situated in Puligny-Montrachet, in the heart of Burgundy's prestigious Côte de Beaune, this magnificent Chardonnay is crafted by Pierre Girardin, a 13th generation winemaker. Pierre meticulously oversees a small-scale, sustainable operation, employing artisan hand-harvesting and gentle pneumatic pressing to preserve the natural essence of the grapes. This wine underwent elegant oak-barrel maturation, amplifying its complexity and longevity. The Enseigneres 2021 delivers a symphony of flavours, bouquet of white flowers, citrus and minerality underpinned by a delicate layer of toasted brioche. Unmistakably Burgundian in style, with unparalleled precision, it is a testament to Pierre Girardin's relentless quest for excellence. The Pierre Girardin Puligny-Montrachet Les Enseigneres 2021 is not merely a wine, but an unforgettable experience that encapsulates the quintessence of its terroir. |

Vinous (86-88)The 2018 Bourgogne Blanc was not the total blend when I tasted it at the domaine, since a couple of barrels had not finished their malolactic (there will be seven barrels in total). It has an attractive nose with notes of lemon curd, white flowers and just a hint of nutmeg, quite Meursault-like in style. The well-balanced palate is slightly buttery on the opening. Quite generous and slightly honeyed in the mouth, with touches of lime cordial and tangerine toward the finish. Enjoy this as soon as it is bottled. |

Wine Advocate (90-92)Colin has elected to produce a 2017 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Cuvée Marguerite, a blend of the lieux-dits En Créot, Les Combes and Perrières that debuted after the 2016 frost. Exhibiting aromas of pear, fresh mint, white flowers and blanched almond, it's medium to full-bodied, bright and incisive, with tangy acids and a chalky finish. |

Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (90-93)A blend from three vineyards, Perrières, Combes, Créot. Mid lemon not clear, more fruit weight on the nose, into ripe apples here, less citrus, a little tension, matching the opulence of the fruit. Good length again. Tasted: October 2021 |

Vinous (97)The 2011 Batard-Montrachet boasts serious richness, depth and structure. A wine of pure brawn and intensity, the 2011 impresses for its exceptional balance and harmony, but it is also very reticent and nowhere near ready to show the full breadth of its personality. The finish alone is simply sensational. Readers should give the 2011 at least a few years in bottle to settle down. The Batard is imposing, sensational and regal in every way. |
