A classically-styled wine that embodies the estate's ethos of finding a perfect middle ground between the wines of Bordeaux and the Rhône Valley, Optimus 2019 is "always an impactful wine" for Jane Anson. As the "most balanced L'Aventure" that Suckling has ever tried, the 2019 is a blend of 57% Syrah, 31% Cabernet Sauvignon and 12% Petit Verdot. Offering wonderful depth and ageability, it has garnered 96 points from James Suckling, 94-96 points from Jeb Dunnuck and 94 points from Anson.

Founded 20 years ago by Stephan Asseo, this Paso Robles estate has benefited from its founders time in Bordeaux where he developed a penchant for elegantly powerful wine that displayed a refined personality. Jeb Dunnuck has even described L'Aventure as "undoubtedly one of the Central Coast's superstars and one of the references in California."
