(Maison) Louis Jadot Chablis Grand Cru Blanchot 2019 (6x75cl)
Chablis is in the northern part of Burgundy, half way between Dijon and Paris. The continental climate with cold winters, spring frosts and hot summers combine with the marly limestone soils, to mould the unique character of Chablis wines.
7 Climats can be called Grand Cru in Chablis: Preuses, Bougros, Les Clos, Grenouilles, Blanchot, Valmur and Vaudésir. Those vineyards are all situated on the hill on the right side of Le Serein river.
Thanks to its position on a slope with eastern exposition and ageing in oak for 15 to 18 months, Blanchot Grand Cru has a strong, full-bodied character, with plenty of weight and rich texture on the palate
A suitably cool customer on the nose with some strong green-fruit notes. Density of fruit but just a tad heavy handed. Already quite open.
