Impressive depth of ripe fruit such as strawberry and cherry on the nose. Full and very chewy. Lots of tannin backbone to this 2011. Give it three or four years to soften. But already show class and balance.
Shows depth and intensity to the cherry, raspberry, licorice and spice flavors, offering well-integrated tannins and a rich texture, with a long and expressive finish. Should find equilibrium in a year or two.
The 2012 Barbaresco Basarin reflects the power and intensity that characterizes wines from this celebrated vineyard in the Neive township. This is a shapely and opulent expression with a large frame of dark fruit and spice at the core. This wine sees 18 months of oak. It shows supple tannins and sweet fruit flavors. Those oversized qualities bode well for its future evolution and longevity.

A dark, fleshy wine, the 2012 Barbaresco Basarin offers quite a bit of size and intensity in this vintage. Black cherry, mint, wild flowers and spices are some of the notes that meld together in an ample Barbaresco that will drink nicely for many years. The 2012 could use more time for the tannins to soften, but it is quite expressive, even today.
