Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (92-95)Their plot is protected by the wall, so a respectable crop. A brighter fresher colour. Bright red fruit with fair depth, much fresher at the finish, some pleasing crunchiness with the tannins nicely integrated. The crunch comes from the 100% whole bunch. Drink from 2028-2034. Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (93-97)A low key lemon and lime colour. Clean fresh and classic on the nose. A very typical fresh stony palate, lightly washed in citrus, with enough flesh to provide the body necessary for ageing, and a fine, long, persistently mineral finish. Drink from 2027-2035. Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (90-94)More crimson than purple, with a lifted nose with strawberry smoky notes from 50% whole bunch. Very pretty indeed. Let’s see if there is enough depth on the palate for grand cru. Yes, there is a delicious weight of cherry and strawberry fruit in the middle with an infusion of white pepper, but nothing dry on the finish. 4 stars if you like whole clusters, three if not. Drink from 2027-2032. Tasted: November 2022 |

Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (94-98)A bit better in yield as everybody protected their vines in Le Montrachet, with the 2016 disaster in mind. A fine mid lemon yellow, this begins discreetly but there is a wonderful concentrated intensity through the middle, a racy quality perhaps not quite there in the Chevalier. This time there is clearly a beginning, a middle and an end. Really enormously persistent and leaving a special taste in the mouth. I might just sip it to keep me company en route to my next tasting in Gevrey-Chambertin! Drink from 2030-2040. Tasted: November 2022 |
