CVNE Imperial Gran Reserva 2010
"We're in for a treat with the 2010 Imperial, a classic among classics" The Wine Advocate
Last month we offered the 2010 Gran Reserva from Cune, which sold out within the hour. Today we are offering its newly released big brother and jewel in the Cune crown - 2010 Imperial Gran Reserva.
Cune is a top producer in Rioja with a long and storied history dating back to the founding of the Compañía Vinícola del Norte de España (CVNE; or ‘Cune’ to its fans) in 1879. This is one of the grand old classics of Rioja.
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate has reviewed a great many vintages of the fabulous Imperial, going back as far as the 1928. This 2010 was awarded the joint 2nd highest rating ever... and called "a classic among classics in a classic vintage".
Compared to the the price of other top-ranking Riojas (most of which are well over £60 per bottle), CVNE Imperial punches hugely above its price point, representing outstanding value at just £51.50 per bottle. And today, even better value as we are offering £50 IB off per case so this seriously fine bottle of wine comes to you at £41.50 per bottle.
For those who love traditional Rioja, 2010 CVNE Imperial is a solid buy.
