Orma 2016 (6x75cl)
Aromas of blueberries, blackberries, chocolate and hazelnuts follow through to a full body, round and velvety tannins and a flavorful finish. Tight and focused right now. Needs three or four years to soften. Try in 2022.

Brooding and dark, with a nicely compact core, the 2016 Orma shows generous concentration and good density at the back. The mouthfeel is rich and thickly textured. The wine produces notes of green olive, black olive, caper and smoke. The blend here is 50% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Cabernet Franc. This is a powerful wine with 15% alcohol that underlines its potency. Some 30,000 bottles were made

The 2016 Orma is laced with the essence of black cherry, smoke, licorice, spice and dark chocolate. Medium in body and persistent, with striking poise, Orma is absolutely gorgeous in 2016. All the elements simply fall into place effortlessly. Deceptively in its mid-weight feel, the 2016 offers striking persistence and tons of class.

A classic Tuscan winery, Sette Ponti exudes rustic charm and is fitting for the classic way they do things here. The story behind the scenes however is far from out dated. Meticulous research into new production methods and vineyard management have made Sette Ponti one of the region's leading producers. The flagship wine, Oreno is just about the best value Supertuscan around; regularly scoring in the udder 90's from top critics and always selling for exceedingly keen prices. This is a producer to watch.
