The 2018 Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru has closed down a touch on the nose, eventually revealing red fruit, violet petals and a light oyster shell note. Fine delineation and superb focus. The palate is detailed and precise, just a faint touch of dark chocolate in the background with the mineral-driven finish delivering the sapidity to tempt you back for another sip (in 4-5 years time...when it's ready.)

The 2018 Chambertin Clos-de-Bèze Grand Cru has so much fruit on the nose: blackberry, sous-bois and cedar, more rose scents than I observed out of barrel last year. I feel that this is more powerful than the 2019, an unapologetically extravagant Clos de Bèze yet with a lithe, sensual finish that actually reminds more of Armand Rousseau. Yet - it's that good.

    Vinous (92-94)

The 2018 Gevrey-Chambertin Petite Chapelle 1er Cru has an expressive bouquet of ample red berry fruit, hints of rose petal and just a touch of vanilla pod. The palate is medium-bodied with supple, lithe tannins. A pliant, silky-smooth La Petite Chapelle with a harmonious, sensual finish. This wine has ambition.

The 2019 Morey Saint-Denis En La Rue Vergy Blanc has a well defined nose of honeysuckle and peach skin. Well balanced on the palate, it has a fine bead of acidity, fresh and long, with a detailed finish. Delightful, if not long-term.

An exquisite testament to Burgundian viticultural art, the Bruno Clair Savigny-les-Beaune 1er Cru Les Jarrons 2018 is brimming with impeccable quality and finesse. This Burgundy red from the esteemed Bruno Clair, a third-generation vintner, demonstrates a meticulous handling of Pinot Noir grapes, hand-picked from premier cru vineyard, Les Jarrons. Nestled in Savigny-les-Beaune, this vineyard bathes in flawless terroir, endowing the wine with elegant structure and complexity. Aged in French oak barrels for 14 to 18 months, it reveals an enchanting, ruby-red hue and a voluptuous bouquet of red fruits with subtle undertones of spice and leather. On the palate, each sip unfurls layers of raspberry, cherry, clove, and warm earthiness. Its superb balance of tannins, acidity, and fruit robustness make each sip memorable. A paragon of top-tier Burgundy, the Bruno Clair Savigny-les-Beaune 1er Cru Les Jarrons 2018 showcases the prowess of its producer and the richness of its terroir.
