Vinous (93-95)The 2020 Chambolle-Musigny Les Gruenchers 1er Cru has a winsome bouquet, very pure and quite floral with vivid red cherries and red plummy fruit laced with minerals. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, a fine bead of acidity, harmonious and silky smooth with a precise finish. Elegant and suave, this will be a very delicious Chambolle-Musigny. |

Vinous (91-93)Medium red; slightly hazy (all of these négociant wines were racked the week before my visit): Musky aromas of raspberry, coffee and mocha lifted by a floral element. Plush, soil-driven wine with distinct saline minerality if not the éclat of the Echézeaux. Conveys a higher-pH mouth feel. Plenty complex, though, finishing with lovely savory tannins. |

Vinous (92-95)Bright, dark red with ruby highlights. Soil-driven aromas of dark raspberry, licorice and black and white pepper. Boasts lovely saline minerality and spicy depth to its sappy core of raspberry and black cherry fruit. Conveys a strong impression of density and energy and finishes with terrific dusty, tactile length. The yield here was about 32 hectoliters per hectare. Has the tannic spine for a long life in bottle. |
