Vinous (93)The 2020 Pouilly-Fuissé Clos des Prouges comes from marn soils. This has a finely-tuned and more mineral-driven bouquet compared to Les Perrières, hints of yellow plum, Vervane tea and crushed stones emerging with time. The palate is structured with fine substance and grip, a twist of sour lemon and quite a long, lingering saline finish. This could turn into one of J-A Ferret's best 2020s. |

Vinous (93)The 2020 Pouilly-Fuissé Les Ménétrières 1er Cru, a blend of three parcels (marl, limestone and clay soils intermixed), has the most complex bouquet amongst Ferret's 2020s. Lovely chamomile and crushed stone scents, a touch of orange blossom, though still a little backward. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, taut and fresh, lemon verbena and a hint of stem ginger towards the persistent finish. Superb. |

Vinous (90)The 2020 Pouilly-Fuissé comes from close to 32 separate plots, vinified in concrete vats and used oak. It has a well-defined and focused bouquet, light floral scents emerging with time. The palate is well balanced with crisp acidity, nicely focused, not complex yet with impressive persistence and mineralité. Very fine. |

Vinous (92)The 2020 Pouilly-Fuissé Tournant de Pouilly 1er Cru is much more Zen-like, backward on the nose that does not want to come out and play, yet there is clearly coiled-up intensity here and it just needs some bottle age. The palate is well-balanced with a fine spine of acidity thanks to the limestone soil, a little chalkiness coming through on the focused finish. Very fine. |
