    Graham's

    Graham's

The tale of Graham’s is a story of two families, one founding and one guiding the property to the very highest heights. Founded in 1820 by the Graham brothers, theirs was one of the first companies to invest in their own vineyards in the Douro Valley rather than the common practice at the time of exclusively buying fruit in.

Its acquisition by the Symington Family Estates added this property to the greatest assembled portfolio of fortified wines in Portugal, tucking it neatly under the auspice of the five Symington cousins led by winemaker Charles. Known for its intense floral aromatics, opulent fruit and adventurous flair, Graham’s declares a vintage in nothing but the very finest years.

    • Graham's 1994 (6x75cl)

      Vinous (95)

The 1994 Graham’s Vintage Port, which incidentally carries quite noticeable sediment, as there is no fining or filtration, is beginning to show a little bricking on the rim. The bouquet is very harmonious and welcoming, featuring aromas of mulberry, roasted chestnut, pressed rose petals, autumn leaves and a hint of liquorice. The nose is not powerful; rather, it displays a brooding intensity. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grained tannin and lightly spiced with clove, pain d’épices and again, a scintilla of liquorice. Though it obviously has another 20 or 30 years in the tank, this mellow Graham’s is drinking beautifully now. Tasted at the Symington Tawny Port tasting at the Tower of London.

    • Graham's 2007 (12x37.5cl)

      Wine Spectator (96-99)

Great nose of crushed blackberry, currant and grape skin. Intense. Full-bodied, dense and beautiful, with big, polished tannins and a long, long finish. Very sweet. This is a superb young vintage Port. Could match or better the fabulous 2000 Graham. Score range: 96-99
