    Jean Tardy Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Athets 2020 (6x75cl)

    £340 - £408

    2020

    Jean Tardy Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Athets 2020 (6x75cl)

    Burghound (89-91)

A slightly more deeply pitched nose displays liqueur-like aromas of red and dark raspberry, poached plum and cassis. There is excellent concentration to the intense and well-detailed flavors that culminate in a moderately rustic, powerful and serious bitter pit fruit-inflected finale that is even more firmly structured. At least some patience suggested. (89-91)/2027+

Jean Tardy Echezeaux Grand Cru Les Treux VV 2020 (6x75cl)

    £1,450 - £1,740

    2020

Jean Tardy Echezeaux Grand Cru Les Treux VV 2020 (6x75cl)

    Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (94-96)

Intense imperial purple. From new wood as it is all in new barrel. The oak shows from a Meyrieux barrel, but integrates better in Montgillard. Much silkier too on the palate with excellent detail, no doubting the concentration but here there is elegance and joy, builds wonderfully to the back of the palate. On the cusp of red and black fruit, and showing the class of the vineyard. Tasted: November 2021

Jean Tardy Fixin La Place 2020 (6x75cl)

    £220 - £264

    2020

Jean Tardy Fixin La Place 2020 (6x75cl)

    Vinous (89-91)

The 2020 Fixin La Place, which will have around one-third new oak, has a well-defined bouquet with black cherries and bilberry fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, quite fleshy and ripe with fine acidity. Lots of red fruit here, quite elegant with fine tension. I almost think that the new oak is going to be superfluous...we will see.

    £350 - £420

    2020

Jean Tardy Gevrey Chambertin Champerrier Vv 2020 (6x75cl)

    Vinous (91-93)

The 2020 Gevrey-Chambertin Champs Perrières Vieilles Vignes has quite a dense bouquet, a mixture of red and black fruit, an attractive floral element that becomes more pronounced with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit, lightly spiced with a touch of candied orange peel towards the finish. Lovely silky texture here. Stylish and quite persistent.

Jean Tardy Nuits Saint Georges 1er Cru Argillas 2020 (6x75cl)

    £510 - £612

    2020

Jean Tardy Nuits Saint Georges 1er Cru Argillas 2020 (6x75cl)

    Vinous (91-93)

The 2020 Nuits Saint-Georges Aux Argillats 1er Cru has quite a backward yet precise nose, dark cherries, iodine and violet scents. Good definition but surly at the moment. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly chalky tannins, taut and fresh, quite saline on the finish but the compactness of this cuvée suggests that it will need 4-5 years in bottle.

    2020

Jean Tardy Nuits-Saint-Georges Aux Bas de Combe 2020 (6x75cl)

    Vinous (90-92)

The 2020 Nuits Saint-Georges Au Bas de Combe Vieilles Vignes has a clean and precise bouquet with black cherries, crushed violet and boysenberry fruit. It takes time to unfurl in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly chewy tannns, fine acidity, quite structured with a fresh, sappy finish. This should age nicely in bottle.

    2020

    Jean Tardy Vosne-Romanee Vigneux 2020 (6x75cl)

    Vinous (88-90)

The 2020 Vosne-Romanée Vigneux, which Tardy mentioned tends to producer lower natural acidity, actually had better than average acidity in this vintage. This has an open-knit, well-defined bouquet with slightly minty red fruit. The palate is well balanced with juicy tannins, not complex, maybe a little attenuated towards the finish, but there is fine freshness here. Drink over the next 6-8 years.
