Château Lassègue
About Château Lassègue
A beautiful 18th-century property found in the southwest hills of Saint-Émilion commune, Château Lassègue is blessed with perfect sun exposure, incidentally, the inspiration for their emblem, producing one of the most opulent and rich Merlot-based clarets in the appellation. Apart from its ideal sun exposure which guarantees optimal phenolic ripeness, the soil here is mostly clay and limestone planted with 50-60-year-old vines. There is little doubt that this combination of terroir has almost limitless potential, and the capable estate gives rise to wines of exquisite minerality and impeccable balance.

James Suckling (94-95)This is a very intense, focused red with blackberry and spice character. I am impressed with the polished tannins and flavorful finish. One of the best I have seen from here for a while. |
