    Rustenberg Estate

Rustenberg Estate was founded in 1682 and is nestled in the valley of the Simonsberg Mountain in South Africa’s premium wine region, Stellenbosch (see picture below). The estate was bought by Peter Barlow in 1941, and the Barlows have been here ever since!

Rustenberg is widely regarded as one of the ‘First Growth’ estates of South Africa. The current wine-maker is Murray Barlow, who was named Diners Club “Young Wine-maker of the Year” in 2003 and 2016.

The Peter Barlow Cabernet Sauvignon is the top wine of the estate - sourced from a single block in the oldest vineyard in the valley. It is only made in excellent vintages (not every year). This is a rich, robust varietal expression of the exceptional quality and age-ability of Cabernet from the Simonsberg region.
