Halliday Wine Companion (99)Pale straw-green - an extraordinary colour of an extraordinary wine. A fragrant bouquet floats out of the glass and introduces a palate that has the best of all worlds: lemon, lemon curd, beeswax and fruit spice with no hint of the searing acidity Hunter Valley semillon can throw at the unwary. Here it is perfectly (and naturally) balanced. A worthy companion to the sublime Graveyard Shiraz '18. |

Vinous (95)From an old parcel in the Hermannshöhle whose vines are still single post-trained, this auctioned bottling (representing the contents of a 600-liter Halbstück) delivers a highly aromatic and luscious amalgam of white peach, pink grapefruit and Persian melon not unlike that familiar from its A.P. #12 counterpart. Suggestions of nut pastes complemented by candied citrus rind are also present. But this boasts a yet creamier texture, greater delicacy, and a more complex and mouthwatering mineral savor, allied to raw scallop-like sweetness and salinity. |

Explore the Markus Molitor Graacher Himmelreich Pinot Noir 3* Fass 1 2014, an exquisite addition to the pantheon of German wine. The 3-star classification denotes the highest quality in Markus Molitor's tier system, and this spellbinding vintage doesn't disappoint. Nestled in Germany's Mosel wine region, the Graacher Himmelreich vineyard cultivates the Pinot Noir grapes in their steep, slaty, south-facing slopes, inducing unique mineral character and complexity. This Pinot Noir boasts of elegance and intensity, with a captivating array of black fruit, clove, and wild herb aromas. Aged in French oak casks, it offers refined texture, profound minerality, and a breathtakingly long finish. Tradition meets innovation in Markus Molitor's expert hands, elevating this '14 Pinot Noir, Graacher Himmelreich 3* Fass 1 to heights of wine perfection. |

Wine Advocate (98)Rich, concentrated and intense, the 2014 Grange delivers exactly what we've come to expect from this Penfolds icon wine. It's full-bodied, velvety in feel and loaded with plummy fruit, framed in vanilla and cedar. Dense, powerful and tannic, it should prove to be long lived, even by Grange standards. Gago doesn't rate the vintage overall that highly, but he says the selection this year for Grange was a bit more stringent and that production levels were just average. There are still over 1,000 cases for the United States. |

Jancis Robinson (18)Thick deep purple. Refined, really complex nose. Super-ripe purple fruit and lovely polish. So clean and fresh on the end. Suave and velvety. Complete. Lightly salty and beautifully smooth yet with masses of tannins underneath. |
