It fills the palate with broad-shouldered, ripe tannins and dark mineral underpinnings that coarse through the wine. It has a more brooding personality and is fantastic and built for the long haul over the coming 12-15 years. |

Wine Advocate (94)The 2010 Barolo Bricco Ambrogio bursts open with an immediate whiff of fresh flowers and crushed roses. Paolo Scavino bought the four-hectare, south-facing vineyard in 2001 the same moment he saw the listing. Crushed mineral tones appear at the back but those delicate fruit and floral tones take center stage. The wine is smooth and silky, although the tannic presence and acidity are very much in play. Drink: 2017-2030. |

Vinous (93)The 2018 Barolo Bricco Ambrogio is one of the most pleasant surprises in this range. Medium in body, with terrific fruit density and fine balance, the 2018 offers up the essence of sweet red cherry fruit, kirsch, blood orange, rose petal, spice and mint. I remember visiting this site with Enrico Scavino many years ago, before it was planted, and seeing his excitement about its potential. In 2018, all of that really comes through. |

Elegant and medium-bodied, it has a lot of graceful details, with fine tannins, lovely concentration and a lovely and linear feel without any austerity. It has a Burgundian aesthetic and is a very well-styled wine from this site. Drink 2025-2040. |

Vinous (96)The 2008 Barolo Cannubi bursts from the glass with freshly cut flowers, black cherries, menthol and spices. It is a cool, reserved wine with plenty of Cannubi character. The 2008 is very young, but striking just the same. The delineation, textural elegance and complexity are all first-rate. |

Quite tight and primary but a bit monolithic today, almost like a barrel sample. But shows excellent density to its dark cassis, floral and mineral flavors. Finishes with building tannins and terrific lingering fruit. This will need a minimum of four to six years in the cellar. |

Vinous (92)The 2018 Barolo Cannubi is attractive and also rather understated in this vintage. Crushed flowers, cedar, sweet pipe tobacco, mint and dark cherry are nicely lifted. The Cannubi is quite pretty, but also a touch on the ethereal side, as many Barolos are in 2018. |

Vinous (94)The 2004 Barolo Carobric is in a great place today where it is starting to show the first signs of aromatic complexity, yet it also clearly has plenty of upside for the future. Firm yet nicely integrated tannins give the 2004 much of its energy. Sweet tobacco, plums, underbrush, cherries and melted road tar linger on the multi-faceted finish. Carobric is a blend of fruit from Cannubi, Rocche di Castiglione and Bric del Fiasc. |
