Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (92-94)
The colour offers a huge depth of royal purple. A most impressive bouquet, weight and concentration without heaviness, very stony beneath which helps to leaven the power of the fruit. Drink from 2031-2037. Tasted Nov 2024.Inc. VAT£592.40 -
Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (91-94)
Not so deep in colour and as a result more prettily perfumed, the floral side of raspberry. Balanced structure with firm tannins and very good length. A punch down and a pump over every day explains the structure. Drink from 2032-2037. Tasted Nov 2024.Inc. VAT£592.40 -
Burghound (89-92)
Outstanding Top value. An ultra-fresh nose speaks of ripe red and dark berries plus an abundance of earth character. There is better volume and density to the energetic medium weight flavors where the supporting tannins are unusually fine in the context of what is typical for a Nuits villages. Excellent and worth your interest.Inc. VAT£306.80 -

(6x75cl) 2023Burghound (89-91)
Pungent aromas of reduction and wood toast are all that can be discerned on the brooding nose. By contrast, there is good punch to the smoky medium weight flavors that are generous and quite rich while maintaining good balance on the nicely persistent finale. This could use better depth but that should come in time.Inc. VAT£324.80 -
Burghound (91-93)
(Sweet Spot) (from Bas de Teurons). An elegant, pure and airy nose also freely reveals its aromas the essence of red currant, cherry and pretty floral nuances. The refined, energetic and well-detailed medium weight flavors possess a lacy mouthfeel while exuding a subtle bead of minerality on the youthfully austere and beautifully long finale. This is lovely and very Teurons in style.Inc. VAT£402.80 -
(6x75cl) 2023Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (92)
Pale lemon colour. A clean clear cut white fruit here. Riper apples start to show and a sense of the flesh from this clay-based but stone rich soil. Plenty of depth on the palate, this is very true to its origins. Just the right acidity to back up the finish. Drink from 2028-2034. Tasted Nov 2024.Inc. VAT£672.80 -
Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (94-97)
5 Star Wine. Two thirds of the vines were planted in from 1929, and the rest are not much younger. Very millerand grapes which were destemmed. Seven barrels made, which is unheard of even in the memory of the Maume family, whence these vines originated. Bright vigorous purple fruit, very sensual, picked at ideal ripeness, the fruit flowing across the palate, backed by useful tannins to finish. Drink from 2029-2038. Tasted Nov 2024.Inc. VAT£1,127.60 -
Burghound (93-95)
(Don't Miss) (from Mazis-Bas). An elegant, airy and beautifully layered nose is spicier still with plenty of floral influence suffusing the mix of red and dark currant, anise and forest floor. The super-sleek and equally, if markedly denser, medium-bodied flavors exhibit excellent power on the sappy, balanced and wonderfully persistent finale that is unmistakably built to repay extended keeping. One to strongly consider.Inc. VAT£2,436.80 -
Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (95-97)
45% whole bunch. Lifted ruby purple. A touch of coconut from the wood. This has much more finesse than the Charmes. Really graceful on the palate yet still with tensile strength. An excellent fruit acid balance too, altogether a classy Mazoyères. Very persistent. Drink from 2030-2038. Tasted Nov 2024.Inc. VAT£2,004.80 -
Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (90-91)
Destemmed, 20% new wood, now racked to tank. A lovely fresh crimson colour. Mixed red berries, including strawberry, this is unforced and very pleasing. Tannins, lighter acidity, but the fruit wins through. Drink from 2028-2033. Tasted Nov 2024.Inc. VAT£438.80 -

The 2023 Volnay Les Fremiets 1er Cru is completely destemmed this year. It has a fresh and more marine-influenced bouquet to the point where you might misconstrue there being some stems in the mix. The palate is medium-bodied, fresh and much more elegant than the 2022. It has fine tannins and nice poise with a harmonious finish. There's not enormous length, but this is really quite a lovely Volnay.Inc. VAT£558.80 -
Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (94-97)
70% whole bunches, in the trimmed stem version. Dense black purple, and a very rich dark raspberry fruit with some black cherry. Almost exaggerated but in fact not. Thibault notes that elements of finesse became apparent later in the vinification rather than at the start which is interesting. Work at the end paid off. This becomes so much more stylish than one could imagine from the initial attack. Long classy and charming.Inc. VAT£1,288.84 -
Burghound (89-92)
A brooding and very earthy nose is more deeply pitched and very Gevrey in character. The rich, concentrated and more powerful medium-bodied flavors are firmly structured and serious while exhibiting touch of bitter pit fruit and youthful austerity on the balanced and highly persistent finish. Créots always needs time in bottle to develop and this excellent example will be no exception. RecommendedInc. VAT£548.00 -
Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (96-99)
5 Star Wine. Picked 28th September. A rich, indeed sumptuous purple. Exceptionally youthful bouquet with a little touch of new wood. A magical wine, which is entirely in balance. It is not just the concentration which moves to another level but the sublime and effortless suavity of texture. All in pure red fruit, nothing dark, my favourite alpine strawberries, but a host of other berries as well. Magical.Inc. VAT£3,335.89 -
Vinous (95-97)
The 2021 Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru, the first Grand Cru to be picked with 50% whole clusters, has a fragrant, pure and (unlike Latricières) inviting bouquet that just wants to seduce. Very sensual. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins that frame the crystalline red fruit, supreme mineralité with one of the most elegant finishes you will find in this vintage. Reminiscent of Dugat's Chapelle-Chambertin, this is divine.Inc. VAT£2,423.89 -
Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (95-98)
5 Star Wine. Louis considers that Latricières-Chambertin is typically three degrees cooler than neighbouring Combottes. 40% whole bunch vinification. Glowing purple. A touch of reduction on the nose but a vibrant luxurious fruit nonetheless. There is a gorgeous coating of a deep dark velvet fruit with the structure behind perfectly poised, refined tannins and clean acidity. Very long. A gorgeous wine in the making. Louis feels that 2020 lost the plot of Latricières – but not at all 2021.Inc. VAT£2,389.09 -

William Fevre own 46ha of AP Chablis but there was lots of frost damage in 2021 - the yield was just 18hl/ha! Lovely floral notes here, very precise and focussed. This is already appealing although the acidity is certainly evident. Lingering spice notes on the finish. From a tank sample, with bottling due in November. Drink from next year and for many years.Inc. VAT£193.46 -

The domaine's 2022 Chablis 1er Cru Fourchaume, a parcel selection in Vaulorent, opens in the glass with notes of sweet citrus fruit, white flowers and oyster shell, followed by a medium to full-bodied, ample and pillowy palate that's cool and fleshy, concluding with a saline finish.Inc. VAT£387.86 -
Decanter (95)
A stunning example, with finesse allied to power. Real tension and energy here. Will be approachable quite young, but really should be aged for over five years for the best result. Fèvre has 2.24ha within Montée de Tonnerre. Plots are located in Pied d'Aloup (facing east) with profound Kimmeridgian soils bringing freshness, Chapelot facing south on deep soil adding richness, and Côte de Brechain facing west on top of the hill with the oldest plots dating back to 1936.Inc. VAT£323.06 -
Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (93-95)
(5 Star wine) Clear lemon and lime colour. Just a very light coquillage reduction. Then the wine builds a beautiful level of intensity on the palate, a lime thread, very salivating for its dry finish. An impeccable balance, this is faultless. And so persistent! Nothing heavy, nothing over sunny. Drink from 2027-2035. Tasted: June 2023.Inc. VAT£289.46 -

Delivering scents of orange oil, white flowers and oyster shell, the 2022 Chablis 1er Cru Vaillons is medium to full-bodied, satiny and suave, with racy acids and a saline finish, showing little trace of the hot, sunny vintage. As usual, it's derived from old vines in Les Minots (that are a source for the Fèvre massal selection), as well as holdings in Roncières and Chatains.Inc. VAT£301.46 -
(6x75cl) 2022Decanter (96)
Fèvre has 3.65ha of Vaulorent. Situated on the grand cru hill rather than the Fourchaume slope, the soils here are characterised by lots of Kimmeridgian marl. Tight and tense, lots of energy here, powerful and precise and compensates with concentration and density more akin to Chablis Grand Cru. GIve this five years and it will be stunning.Inc. VAT£426.26 -

The 2021 Chablis Grand Cru Bougros is one of the richer, more gourmand wines in the range, revealing aromas of peach, orange, white flowers and freshly baked bread. Full-bodied, fleshy and ample, it's a broad, mouth-filling Chablis with bright acids and a precise, saline finish. This has turned out especially well.Inc. VAT£417.86 -
Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (92-95)
Fresh pale green tint. Didier describes this as the entry level grand cru. The average age of the vines is at or above 60 years. There is admirable tension here, an electric start, more middleweight through the middle, then quite a powerful middle with decent dry extract, and good length. Keeps coming back. Drink from 2030-2040. Tasted: June 2023.Inc. VAT£268.34 -
(6x75cl) 2021Burghound (93-95)
A cool and highly restrained nose reluctantly offers up its array of citrus, tidal pool, quinine and oyster shell. The exceptionally rich, even opulent, medium-weight plus flavors also brim with sappy dry extract on the mineral-driven, powerful and remarkably long finish. This is perhaps slightly less elegant than it typically is, but it is most impressive all the same. (93-95)/2033+Inc. VAT£674.29 -

The 2022 Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos is a serious, structured wine, unwinding in the glass with aromas of ripe, waxy citrus rind, crisp orchard fruit and white flowers, framed by a deft touch of youthful reduction. Full-bodied, dense and satiny, it's layered, concentrated and multidimensional, with the most structure and substance of any wine in the range, but also the greatest need for patience to realize all its considerable potential.Inc. VAT£580.33 -
Vinous (94-96)
The 2021 Chablis Les Preuses Grand Cru comes from 2.5-hectares split over two parcels. This has one of my favourite aromatics from Fèvre this year with superb delineation and mineralité. The palate is harmonious and poised, very focused and tensile, plenty of energy with a touch of lime and clementine towards the persistent finish. This is an outstanding Chablis that should age supremely well in bottle.Inc. VAT£882.26 -
Vinous - Neal Martin (96)
The 2022 Chablis Les Preuses Grand Cru has an exquisite bouquet, with wonderful delineation and succinctly integrated oak, lemon curd, apricot and crushed stone unfolding in the glass. The palate is fresh and sapid on the entry. There is a real linearity to this Chablis, with wonderful oyster shell notes and a persistent and tender finish. Superb. Bottled under Diam 10.
