"The most absolute expression" of Taittinger, Comtes de Champagne is the finest example of this legendary producer's house style, deeply admired around the world.

The iconic Blanc de Blancs 2002 is "off the charts" and easily among the best wines of a great vintage, not to mention the joint highest-rated vintage ever from Taittinger.

In the years since its release it has performed exceptionally well on the market, its value more than doubling since it hit the market and, with a drinking window extending into the 2040s, it shows no sign of slowing down. Even so it still represents the best value in its class.

With incredible scores, including 98 points from both the Wine Advocate and Vinous' Antonio Galloni, it outscores some very high-flying wines, even outperforming Salon Le Mesnil, yet costs 70% less!

An uncompromising ode to quality, Comtes is composed exclusively of Chardonnay, grown in five Grands Crus; namely, Avize, Chouilly, Cramant, Mesnil-sur-Oger, and Oger. With the legendary 2002 vintage they achieved incredible concentration and what Antonio Galloni calls a "vivid kaleidoscope of pure Chardonnay aromas".

Much like its fellow prestiges cuvées, it is made only in the finest vintages (37 releases since its 1952 inauguration), when Taittinger feels their exemplary vision for Champagne can be realised. There is simply no such thing as a lesser vintage of this cuvée.

Made in smaller quantities than other prestiges cuvées (typically only 150-300k bottles, versus 300-400k for Cristal, and 5 million for Dom Perignon in a vintage year), it is a relatively rare and hard to come by Champagne, well worth snapping up. Those who do are in for a treat.
