Beautiful Château des Tours Collection (2006 – 2016)… The Sister Winery of Château Rayas
Without question the most mysterious and elusive fine wine across the entire Rhône, prices for the inimitable Château Rayas have reached dizzying heights. Fortunately, and strictly for those in the know, there are ways of sampling the unparalleled masterful winemaking and terroir of this stable for a mere fraction of the cost of the famous flagship cuvée.
The home estate of Emmanuel Reynaud, nephew of the great Jacques Reynaud and inheritor of the fabulous label, Château des Tours is a sensationally perfumed and elegant expression of Grenache that walks a tightrope between Pinot Noir purity and Syrah muscle. A darling of top sommeliers and savvy clients, the selection we have on offer today knocks just about any of its rival Côtes du Rhône cuvées far out of the park.
Sourced exclusively from the Château’s 16 hectares of vineyards, both Jeb Dunnuck and Robert Parker (Wine Advocate) have rightfully waxed lyrical about this estate in the past:
“The home estate of Emmanuel Reynaud (of Rayas), Chateau des Tours produces beautiful, fresh and elegant efforts that often bear more than a passing resemblance to the more prestigious (and expensive) wines of Rayas” Jeb Dunnuck
“Chateau des Tours is Emmanuel Reynaud’s (the nephew of the late Jacques Reynaud as well as the winemaker at Chateau Rayas and Fonsalette since 1997) home estate. His wines are always complex, aromatic efforts that never possess much color, but offer plush, full-bodied textures as well as plenty of personality” Robert Parker (Wine Advocate)
Fans of Château des Tours would know of the extremely rare nature of these wines, as back vintage case offers are notoriously difficult to come by. It is a great pleasure to present these case offerings, providing a golden opportunity for clients to acquire these collectibles in reasonable condition. Even more excitingly, we are able to offer the entire selection at Hong Kong’s best price, making them some compelling and unmissable treats for all collectors.
Given the age of these premium wines, these wines are being offered and classified "as per description" in our stock verification system. And we kindly remind clients to carefully review the condition and status before placing an order. If you have any questions or inquiries, please do not hesitate to contact your account manager.

-
Jancis Robinson (16.5)
Sweet and polished and pretty nectar-like. A bargain hint of Rayas? Very pure, sweet, just-not-jammy Grenache. Lots of fun. And no animal flavours at all. Very sweet; very transparent. GVInc. VAT£2,666.81 -
Vinous (93)
Dried strawberry, melted licorice, white flowers and a hint of cardamom introduce the 2010 Vacqueyras Réserve, while a touch of white pepper heightens the spice. Full-bodied yet poised, the 2010 never relies solely on power or concentration, instead remaining focused, lithe and finely balanced through to the smooth, energetic finish. This bottle was opened about three hours in advance without decanting, and continued to blossom with air. Though it cannot quite match the grandeur of the 2016 tasted alongside, the 2010 is a brilliant Vacqueyras Réserve from Château des Tours, and a transparent expression of this five-star vintage.Inc.
