A barrel sample, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon features a deep garnet-purple, singing on the nose of freshly crushed black cherries, black berry pie and warm plums over a core of cassis and pencil lead plus nuances of violets, cinnamon stick and underbrush. Medium to full-bodied, the palate delivers mouth-coating, crunchy black fruit with a firm backbone of ripe, grainy tannins and just enough freshness, finishing long and spicy.

The Cabernet vineyard situated around the winery at an elevation of 2,300 feet above Napa, on the eastern rim of the Valley, produces a wine that embodies both power and grace, typical of Bordeaux-inspired wines. The addition of 25% Merlot adds a supple quality to the wine. The wine has an aroma of graphite and cedar and the balance between the fruit and tannin creates a unique structure that can be enjoyed.

The 2018 Chardonnay is a gorgeous, luscious Chardonnay loaded with character. Plush fruit and soft contours bring out all of the natural richness of various Wente Clone Chardonnay selections. This is an especially oily, weighty style of Napa Valley Chardonnay. As always, the Napa Valley Chardonnay is a blend of fruit from Hudson and Hyde.
