Vinous (91-93)
The 2019 Volnay Les Brouillards 1er Cru immediately hits a level up from Les Angles, offering scents of vibrant red berry fruit, sous-bois and a hint of morels, all delineated and focused. There is much more brightness and energy on the palate of black plum, raspberry and allspice, leading to a nicely structured, quite peppery finish that lingers in the mouth. Excellent.Inc. It displays one of the Domaine's most attractive bouquets with quite vivacious dark cherry and crushed strawberry fruit, more concentration than its peers. The palate is medium-bodied with crunchy red fruit, a little brittle in texture but fine tension. What is lacks in length it compensates with vigour. Worth seeking out.Inc. VAT£95.33 -
