Prophet's Rock

About Prophet's Rock
Paul Pujol has been at the helm of Prophet's Rock since he joined as winemaker in 2005. Having spent time in the Old World at the Alsatian Kuentz-Bas, as well as the New World's Lemelson in Oregon, he was able to hit the ground running and has been propelling the estate into the top tier of New Zealand wines year after year.
About Cuvée aux Antipodes
2015 saw the introduction of a particularly thrilling project - a collaboration between Pujol and the then-head winemaker of prestigious Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé, François Millet. Cuvée aux Antipodes burst onto the fine wine scene as something new, innovative and ultimately fantastic. T

Cameron Douglas MS (98)
Totally captivating bouquet, exotic spices, elegance and finesse. Both the nose and palate offer a pure fruit attack with white peach and pear then apple and white flowers, very fragrant. A soft salty mineral layer adds texture, depth and complexity - and reflects the wild ferment technique. Satin through silk and fine creamy texture, fine tannins, long finish. Drink now and through 2024.Prophet's Rock Cuvee Aux Antipodes Blanc 2018 (6x75cl)

Huon Hooke (98)
Deep red colour with a strong purple tint. The bouquet is fresh and vibrant and loaded with dark fruit aromas, cherry uppermost, spices and dried herb touches. Oak is apparent early but recedes into balance with exposure to the air. The palate opens with powerful flavour and marked acidity. A concentrated, powerful and beautifully poised wine with energy and vitality, intensity and complexity, great pinosity and drive, with ample tannins backing the flavour but not tough or aggressive as Bendigo tannins can be. The aftertaste is very persistent and harmonious. This is a great wine. I would place it alongside any Burgundy grand cru. Very, very impressive! (295 cases made.) 25 JAN 2019. Drink 2019 - 2034Prophets Rock Cuvee aux Antipodes 2017 (6x75cl)

The 2019 Pinot Noir Cuvée Aux Antipodes is ex–Comte Georges de Vogüé maker François Millet's Kiwi venture in collaboration with Prophet's Rock. It's a dense, smooth and texturally refined Pinot Noir with floral and black cherry fruit. The powerful structure and muscular yet refined bendigo tannins are honed with a pared-back extraction regimen, but this remains a carefully controlled, naturally robust wine. Within its core, there is rich concentration of both substance and tannins, making this a wine for the long haul. Patience will be rewarded.Prophets Rock Cuvee aux Antipodes 2019 (6x75cl)
