Jancis Robinson (17)In hot vintages this site does not show the heat that much (13.2% approx). Barrel samples. Sample 1: from a new barrel racked to a new barrel (thus not representative of the finished wine) Deep and rich in dark-red fruit. Peppery, spicy and creamy too. But a bit dry on the finish because of the new oak. Sample 2: from a different barrel More open on the nose, still lovely dark and lifted fruit. More peppery. Juicier and more aromatic. Great finesse both in the fruit and the tannins. Super-elegant and while it has 2018’s characteristic dark fruit, it has 2017 freshness and finesse. |

Wine Advocate (94)Notes of orange rind, exotic spices, red berries, plums and incense preface the 2019 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Aux Combottes, a medium to full-bodied, velvety and layered wine that's showing brilliantly in bottle. Seamless, lively and concentrated, it concludes with a long, perfumed finish. |

Vinous (94)The 2020 Gevrey-Chambertin Aux Combottes 1er Cru has a gorgeous bouquet with vibrant red fruit laced with pressed roses and peony. A 2020 with a spring in its step. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, taut and fresh, more defined than last year with a pinch of white pepper on the finish. Excellent. |

Vinous - Neal Martin (94-96)The 2022 Gevrey-Chambertin Aux Combottes 1er Cru is one of Dujac's strongest cards, and in this vintage, there's no change there. It has a beautifully defined bouquet with mineral-rich red fruit, subtle iris flower scents and a hint of sous-bois. It has more energy than an over-excited puppy. The palate is medium-bodied with a well-knit opening, harmonious with white pepper and clove-infused black fruit. It has fine backbone, precise and edgy on the finish that lingers long in the mouth. Excellent. |

Vinous (91)Dujac's 2011 Morey St. Denis 1er Cru blossoms beautifully in the glass. Dark red cherry, plum, smoke and mint open up nicely in a supple, layered Burgundy with considerable near and medium-term appeal. This is a representative example of the vintage. |

Vinous (94)The 2017 Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru is showing a little reduction on the nose; there’s some charry oak here, not quite as clean as its peers. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit, fine balance and finer tannins than Taupenot-Merme's La Riotte. This shows impressive delineation and elegance toward the finish, which is persistent and satisfying. An excellent Morey-Saint-Denis. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2017 tasting. |

Wine Advocate (90-92)A cuvée that's often the insiders' choice chez Dujac, the 2021 Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru has turned out well, mingling aromas of plums and berries with hints of baking spice and orange rind. Medium to full-bodied, ample and fleshy, it's layered and textural, with sweet tannins, lively acids and a perfumed finish. |

Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (92-95)From the usual four vineyards. Deep crimson. The bouquet has quite an elegant style even if the individual fruits are not yet quite with us. Quite a firm structure behind but sitting well with the deep red fruit. Balanced and stylish, with good ageing potential. Drink from 2031-2038. Tasted: November 2023. |

Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (92-94)Glowing purple. There is a fine weight of fruit, building steadily, lifting deep cherry notes, with an excellent texture, serge not silk, but it provides a fine backbone. I can see this ageing into a classic Dujac village Morey, always one of Burgundy’s great village wines. Drink from 2030-2037. Tasted: November 2023. |
