Vinous (94+)Full dark red. Strong smoky minerality on the nose, with raspberry and spice notes emerging with air; less subtle than the Charmes today but more satisfying and expressive. Plush, fat and sweet on the palate, with the dark raspberry, spice, licorice and black pepper flavors currently dominated by saline minerality. Seriously dense, rich wine with a rising, palate-staining finish that throws off notes of underbrush, tobacco, iron and spices. The noble tannins owe largely to the high percentage of millerandé berries. A superb showing for this wonderfully silky wine, which will probably be for drinking after the Charmes. |

Wine Advocate (95-97)The 2015 Mazoyères-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes Grand Cru has the most vivacious and intense bouquet amongst Christophe's 2015s, billowing red and dark cherries, creme de cassis, crushed violets and blood orange. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin and extremely well-judged acidity. As such, there is outstanding focus here and a sense of precision running all the way through to the finish. This is a seriously fine Mazoyères-Chambertin that must rank as one of the best this domaine has produced. |

Wine Advocate (95-97)The 2016 Mazoyères-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes Grand Cru clearly is the most intense of Christophe's 2016s on the nose with ebullient scents of black cherries, bilberry, slightly overripe Satsumas and rose petal aromas. It takes a while to get going, but it is worth persisting with. The palate is very harmonious with supple tannin, a silver bead of acidity that winds its way through the layers of pure red fruit and it fans out with a glorious mineral-rich, lightly spiced finish. The mouth is tingling afterward for 30 to 45 seconds. Superb—this is a strong follow-up to the 2015 and may even surpass it. |

Vinous (94-96)The 2019 Mazoyères-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes Grand Cru has a really classy bouquet, perhaps more traditional in style compared to Perrot-Minot’s other Grand Crus, earthier with more sous-bois scents, but just as intense. The palate is medium-bodied with succulent, corpulent tannins that render this a very voluminous and mouth-filling Mazoyères. Maybe the Chapelle-Chambertin has more nervosité, though this boasts and extremely long aftertaste and a persuasive sense of grandeur. |

Burghound (91-94)‘Outstanding’ A pretty, cool and airy nose is comprised by aromas of maraschino cherry laced with both earth and a plethora of floral elements. The sleek, intense and wonderfully mineral-driven middle weight flavors possess an almost pungent salinity on the bitter cherry-inflected finish that flashes superb length. Like the Gevrey villages, if this can develop more depth with time in bottle this could be a knock-out. |

Vinous (89)The 2017 Morey-Saint-Denis en la Rue de Vergy has an attractive earthy bouquet of mainly red fruit and touches of sous-bois. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins and supple in the mouth. Not overly complex, but with an appealing sense of rondeur on the finish. Fine. |

Wine Advocate (92-94)The 2010 Nuits St. Georges La Richemone Ultra, from a vineyard planted in 1902, is super-finessed and classy. The fruit seems to hover on the palate. Dark cherries, plums, sweet spices and mint are some of the many notes that come together in the glass. The precise, understated finish is beautifully articulated. Anticipated maturity: 2020-2030. |

Wine Advocate (92-94)The 2012 Nuits Saint Georges 1er Cru Les Richemoines Cuvee Ultra comes from a small parcel of vines planted back in 1902. It includes 50% whole cluster fruit and there are three barrels this year. It has an enticing bouquet with black cherries, cracked black pepper, tertiary notes and a little undergrowth. The palate has more matiere than the regular cuvee with a fine line of acidity and just a touch more backbone towards the persistent finish. This is very fine and should age well over the next 15 years. |

Wine Advocate (89-91)The 2014 Nuits St Georges 1er Cru La Richemoines Cuvée Ultra has a clean and precise, mineral-driven bouquet that is a little austere at the moment, but that will fill out. There is great terroir expression here and real energy. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red berry fruit on the entry. This is nice structured, grippy in the mouth with good tension. What is needs is a little more flesh to develop towards the finish, as it does come across as very linear and strict at the moment. Let's see how it performs in bottle. |

Vinous (94)Medium red, a bit less saturated than the Combe d'Orveau Ultra. Brooding, highly complex aromas of black cherry, blackberry, tea leaf, game bird and leather. Dense and very intense, with terrific medicinal reserve to the opulent flavors of dark cherry, dark berries and menthol. Can't match the Combe d'Orveau for sheer perfume but this gripping wine shows outstanding finesse of texture for Nuits-Saint-Georges. Very long and very youthful on the back end. |

Wine Advocate (92)Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting in Beaune, the 2013 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Beaux Monts has a tightly wound bouquet, dark plum and raspberry fruit, a touch of blackberry, the oak nicely integrated although it is staying inside its shell for the time being. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red cherry and raspberry fruit, the tannins finer than I was anticipating, the acidity well judged as it segues into a backward but focused, quite structured finish. Christophe Perrot-Minot's Beaux Monts has very good potential. Tasted September 2016. |

Vinous (91-93)The 2017 Vosne-Romanée Les Beaux Monts Vieilles Vignes 1er Cru has a very attractive, expressive bouquet of quite precocious macerated red cherries, kirsch, orange sorbet and hints of crème de cassis, a little showy but irresistible. The silky-smooth palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, more understated than the aromatics, and the finish is very cohesive and charming. Maybe it would benefit from more length, but it feels very natural and refined at the moment. |

Wine Advocate (99)The 2020 La Craie was also picked earlier, and the wine achieved lower alcohol (14%) than the 2019 through fermenting the destemmed grapes in their new crylon vats. It matured in used 225-liter barrels for 16 months, the same barrels they have always used from the beginning. It's a less austere expression of LaCraie, more open, aromatic and gentler but keeping the personality, the delicate tannins and the DNA from the place, the large bones with little meat. Great effort for the vintage. 912 bottles were filled in December 2021. |
