Full-bodied, refined and elegant on the palate, this is a lush, intense and expressive, seriously structured, very long, complex and tensioned Turmberg with a spectacularly long, multilayered and persistently salty finish. Seriously, the Turmberg has never been better than in 2020. For the first time since its re-activation in 2005, the Turmberg premier cru is on grand cru level. Its aftertaste is incredibly dense and compact but also salivating and provided with the energy and expression of a great wine. A Must Buy of the vintage and a Best Buy as well! Magnums preferred. Wine Advocate (92-94)The 2012 Pouilly Fuissé la Croix Vieilles Vignes comes from schist soils and even in nascent form it boasts a vibrant, energetic stony nose that shimmers in the glass. The palate is extremely well-balanced and complex: citrus peel and orange rind at first and then subtle mandarin and spice notes flowing through later. This is quite a mercurial Pouilly-Fuissé, coquettishly showing a different side of its face each time you come back. Superb. |

Wine Advocate (98)The 2008 Barolo Brunate is beautifully balanced from start to finish. Freshly cut flowers, mint, licorice, hard candy and dark red fruit are layered in this utterly impeccable Barolo. Waves of fruit build toward a huge, dramatic finish supported by serious tannins, yet the Brunate remains one of the more understated wines here. The Brunate is all about length, weightless elegance and an elusiveness that is only matched by the greatest Burgundies. This is a dazzling effort. Readers should expect the Brunate to take the better part of a decade to become expressive. Following the Brunate over the course of several days was immensely rewarding. Anticipated maturity: 2018-2033. |

The palate is refined and firm with precise balance of fruit, tannin and acidity. This is the first vintage. 50% of this comes from Voerzio crus and the rest comes from an area called Boiolo, near Brunate and Rocche dell’Annunziata. Wonderful balance and depth. Drink after 2022. |
