I love this château, and the 2019 Château Soutard-Cadet is another brilliant wine that's in the same ballpark as the 2018. Sporting a deep purple hue as well as a rich, powerful nose of ripe black fruits, scorched earth, spicy oak, graphite, and damp earth, it's rich and concentrated, yet the purity is brilliant, it has silky and perfectly ripe tannins, flawless balance, and a great finish. I was able to taste the 2021 Château Soutard-Cadet on multiple occasions and it never failed to impress. Red plums, subtle cassis, graphite, and a beautiful sense of minerality define the aromatics, and it hits the palate with medium-bodied richness, a vibrant, pure, focused mouthfeel, nicely integrated tannins, and a great finish. It clearly has the fresher, cooler style of the vintage yet this has density and depth. It's a gorgeous wine that will benefit from just a few years in the cellar and keep for 15+ if well stored. The 2016 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Sant'Urbano takes some time to blossom in the glass, as mineral-tinged blackberry evolves into a display of currants and cherries complemented by hints of sweet mint, lavender and violets. It’s velvety in texture and savory to the core, coasting dark red and black fruits across a medium-bodied frame, contrasted by vibrant acids, as grippy tannins form up toward the close. The 2021 Soutard unwinds in the glass with aromas of dark berries, plums and spices mingled with hints of violet and iris. Medium to full-bodied, supple and seamless, it's deep and layered, with an impressively concentrated core of pure, vibrant fruit that's framed by sweet, powdery tannins and integrated acids. Transcending the vintage, this property's relentless upward trajectory continues. In Bond£212.50 -

As I wrote from barrel, it's going to benefit from just 2-4 years of bottle age and, I suspect, have 20, 25, if not 30 years of overall longevity. In Bond£166.50 -

Another incredible wine from Marie Lefévère, the 2020 Château Soutard-Cadet boasts a dense purple hue as well as awesome cassis and darker, almost blue fruits to go with lots of tobacco leaf, graphite, crushed stone, and background oak. It’s another medium to full-bodied, pure, seamless wine in the vintage that stays focused and elegant on the palate, with ripe, polished tannins. The purity of fruit is terrific as well.In Bond£150.00 -

The blend is 90% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc, and the rest Petit Verdot, raised in 70% new barrels (225- and 500-liter.)In Bond£121.50 -

This finishes youthfully structured yet amazingly long, with echoes of licorice and purple inner florals. The 2016 is geared for the cellar, and in need of some time to soften, but my expectations are very high.In Bond£204.12 -

The 2017 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Sant'Urbano is dusty and darkly alluring, as dried flowers and incense gives way to nuances of cocoa and, with time in the glass, a vivid note of black cherry. This is texturally deep and savory in style, coming across as almost salty in character, with an intense and saturating core of raspberry and cherry. Exotic spices, dark, dark chocolate and clove develop toward the close. This tapers off long and staining, lightly structured, needing only a short stay in the cellar to come together. Speri did a remarkable job of maintaining balance in such a warm and difficult vintage. In Bond£248.00 -
