The Chiara Condello 2020 Romagna Sangiovese Predappio Riserva Le Lucciole (a certified organic wine) delivers a bright and punchy character, which, unlike the more concentrated Lo Stralisco, is very lifted and vertical in personality. There is ample freshness here that leads to lots of energy and zest over a mid-weight close. This is my favorite wine in this group. Unfortunately, production is limited to 4,500 bottles. It's monumentally big, but it shows finesse and detail in the mouth that transcends the alcohol and the omnipresent tannin. The tannins... they are ultra fine and totally marbled through the fruit. They drag the flavor out across the tongue—I can still taste it two minutes later. It's extraordinary. "We were in no hurry to pick the fruit—we were just waiting for structure and shape," Chris explained. This is kaleidoscopic and provides a 360-degree view of the wine in the mouth.
