  • Gosset Celebris Extra Brut 2008 (6x75cl)

    Falstaff (97)

The nose of the golden wine immediately radiates creaminess, a soft richness that is reminiscent of freshly baked apricot and almond tart and red apple flesh, laced with fine, heady notions of freshly zested Tarocco orange peel. The palate is as creamy as the nose suggests, yet has the poise and the beautiful, salty depth of 2008. A lovely phenolic edge reminds of bitter almond and apple pip, this sits well with the sinuous, toned and lightly salty richness, the ultra-fine mousse and that lovely streak of ripe lemon zest. Gorgeous.

    Falstaff (98)

The nose opens with a slightly floral but exquisitely fragrant nose of orange cake, evocative of golden crust, with air a hint of iron-oxide appears. The palate presents ripest apricot on a generous, rounded full-fruited but precise body. Supremely creamy mousse underlines soaringly brisk freshness.

  • Gosset Extra Brut NV (6x75cl)

    Wine Advocate (91)

The citrus-yellow Gosset NV Extra-Brut (dosage: five grams per liter) is an assemblage of Chardonnay (32%), Pinot Noir (45%) and Pinot Meunier (23%) sourced in 11 villages. This is a deliciously lithe, fresh, elegant, well-structured and creamy-textured cuvée with charmingly round fruit and stimulating mineral grip in the pure, fresh, super precise and delicate finish. This is an impressive cuvée and a great effort at this price point! Tasted in August 2018; lot number unknown.

  • Gosset Grand Rose Brut NV (6x75cl)

    Wine Advocate (93)

Dressed in a unique color that I would describe as a salmon pink with orange (or onion) reflections, Gosset's NV Grand Rosé Brut – a blend of 58% Chardonnay and 42% Pinot Noir, 8% red wine inclusive) – opens with a highly delicate and matured, vinous bouquet of red fruits. Pure, light, highly elegant, round and intense on the fruity-mineral palate, this is a picture-book Champagne of great finesse and delicacy. The persistent finish is lovely, pure and extremely stimulating in its salty/mineral freshness; whereas the fruit is articulated in an aristocratic reticence and perfectly integrated into the noble, overall expression. No malolactic fermentation. This is the kind of sample that I don't want to give away, but drink for myself. Gorgeous!

Grenache, Mourvèdre, Carignan, Counoise, Vaccarèse, Cinsault, Syrah, Muscardin; 14hl/ha yields; 30 months in large barrels before bottling. Already open and expressive, with black pepper and juniper married with liquorice, raspberry, plum and garrigue herbs. It’s full-bodied, but so lively and expressive, with a grand tannic structure and a powerful, grippy finish. It’s generous in alcohol but doesn't taste unbalanced. Just outrageously good.

  • Gracia 2000 (12x75cl)
    (12x75cl) 2000

    Wine Advocate (96)

This is a big upgrade for this spectacular micro-cuvee, a true garage wine from a 4.4-acre vineyard. A blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc, I always find Gracia to be reminiscent of Ausone. The dense, rich 2000 reveals notes of a spring flower garden intermixed with smoky barbecue meat, blackberries, black currants, and crushed rocks. The extraordinary perfume is followed by a wine of great depth and richness, full-bodied power, and not a hard edge to be found. This velvety blockbuster is just beginning to strut all its stuff, and should age easily for another 15+ years.
  • Gracia 2001 (12x75cl)

    Vinous - Stephen Tanzer (90-92)

(90% merlot and 10% cabernet franc) Bright deep ruby. Superripe, liqueur-like aromas of currant and griotte cherry. Lush, thick and concentrated, with more obvious spine than the Angelots. Firm tannins are nicely supported by the wine's impressive density. Shows more finesse than the 2000 and doesn't taste at all overextracted, despite the fact that Gracia did more pigeage than in the previous year.

  • Gracia 2008 (12x75cl)
    (12x75cl) 2008

    Wine Advocate (95)

One of the most remarkable St.-Emilions of the vintage, the 2008 Gracia (13.5% alcohol) is a candidate for “wine of the year.” Yields were 18 hectoliters per hectare and despite its aging in 100% new oak, the wine shows no evidence of new wood. The final blend was 80% Merlot and the rest mostly Cabernet Franc and a touch of Cabernet Sauvignon. The full-bodied 2008 boasts an inky/purple color along with an Ausone-like nose of licorice, truffles, camphor, crushed rocks and blue as well as black fruits. More supple and opulent than the 2010, the 2008 is already beginning to round into shape and should be at its finest in 4-5 years and keep for two decades. Only, 4,700 bottles were produced.
  • Gracia 2010 (12x75cl)
    (12x75cl) 2010

    Wine Advocate (99)

From very small yields of 22 hectoliters per hectare, this wine flirted with perfection on each occasion I tasted it. It is a sensational effort – if you can find it. The wine is dense purple and stunningly rich, with lots of crushed rock and chalky notes from the limestone soils as well as blueberry and black berry liqueur intermixed with some smoky barbecue and an aroma that reminded me of tea-smoked duck. Thick, rich and full, its glycerine and concentration hide some rather lofty tannins This is another prodigious effort from proprietor Michel Gracia – it’s just a shame he doesn’t make more wine. This miniature jewel of a property (all approximately five acres of it) has produced a world-class wine that is one of the superstars of the 2010 vintage although the impossibility of acquiring any of it is frustrating. Michel Rolland’s top consultant, Jean-Philippe Fort, who provides consulting advice at this estate, has produced a blend of 75% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon that hit 14.5% natural alcohol.
  • Gracia 2011 (12x75cl)

    Wine Advocate (95)

One of the few blockbuster wines in this vintage, Gracia’s 2011 exhibits an opaque blue/purple color along with gorgeous aromas of graphite, chalk, black currants, blueberries, camphor and a hint of truffles. Full-bodied and rich, with good acidity, this luscious St.-Emilion should drink well in 2-3 years and last for 15.

  • Gracia 2014 (6x75cl)
    (6x75cl) 2014

    Vinous - Antonio Galloni (92)

The 2014 Gracia is racy and exuberant from the outset. Crème de cassis, espresso, violet, mint and sweet spice notes all meld together. Sumptuous, plush and inviting, the Gracia shows the more opulent side of Saint-Émilion. All the elements fall into place effortlessly. The 2014 has turned out beautifully. I would prefer to drink it over the next decade or so. The blend is 70 % Merlot, 25 % Cabernet Franc and 5 % Cabernet Sauvignon. Tasted two times.
  • Gracia 2015 (12x75cl)

    Jeb Dunnuck (97)

In the same ballpark as the 2016, the 2015 Château Gracia is a blend of 70% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon raised all in new oak. It’s another Rockstar effort from this estate that pairs sensational richness and depth with phenomenal elegance, purity and a weightlessness that’s hard to believe. Cassis, toasty oak, damp earth, violets, and smoked herb nuances all flow to a full-bodied, layered, multi-dimensional Saint-Emilion that has incredible sex appeal, yet is just as complex, layered and nuanced. It’s an incredible wine!
