Wine Advocate (90)Opening in the glass with aromas of cherries, red plums and cassis mingled with subtle hints of coniferous forest floor, the 2017 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Charmes (Maison Louis Jadot) is medium to full-bodied, velvety and enveloping, with an open-knit core of succulent fruit framed by melting tannins. Attractively balanced and immediate but only moderately concentrated, this Charmes boasts considerable near- to mid-term appeal. |

Vinous (93+)Medium red. Powerfully mineral aromas of dark berries, orange zest, floral oils and crushed stone. The palate offers great class and lift, showing superb definition to the flavors of red berries, minerals and botanical herbs. This razor-sharp Chambolle finishes with terrific rising perfume. With extended time in the recorked bottle, the wine showed distinctly darker berry character, with captivating violet and mint high notes. A beauty. |

Vinous - Stephen Tanzer (90-92)Medium red, less bright than the Feusselottes. Reticent nose hints at crushed stone. Silky-sweet on entry, then surprisingly open-knit in the middle, with sweet berry and mineral flavors carrying nicely through a broad, fine-grained finish. Has the stuffing to support its smooth tannins. (My sample of the Chambolle-Musigny Baudes was locked up tight and in a dry phase; it will require revisiting next year in bottle.) |

Jancis Robinson (17)Star anise, red plum and red cherry on this complex and bright nose. Silky smooth but plentiful tannins frame an expansive core of floral red fruits on the palate. Quite marked smoky, chocolatey oak at this stage but such is the power of fruit that it should knit together well with time. |

Vinous (90-92)The 2021 Chambolle-Musigny Les Fuées 1er Cru shows more reduction than the Les Baudes, and consequently, I find this warm and more difficult to read. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, more sorbet-like than the Les Baudes and slightly candied towards the finish but without quite the same pedigree. However, it should still drink well for a number of years. |

Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (93-95)Mid ruby. There is not a lot more on the nose, but considerably greater generosity of fruit on the palate, absolutely fills the mouth, raspberry seedless, covers any tannins and with adequate acidity. Very long. Note that in 2023 there are some whole bunches in all the Jadot Chambolle wines. Drink from 2030-2038. Tasted Oct 2024. |

Wine Advocate (93-95)The 2015 Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru has an open red cherry, crushed strawberry and sea spray-scented bouquet that perhaps does not quite have the complexity, nor the intrigue of the Mazis-Chambertin at this stage. The palate is refined with grippy tannin and a commendable sense of energy and tension. The salinity comes through on the finish and lends this grand cru fine sappiness, urging you back for another sip. For those with patience... |

Vinous (95)Good deep red. Wonderfully complex, vibrant aromas of red fruits, game and minerals. Offers great energy and sap in the mid-palate, with powerful minerality giving precision to the flavors. Wonderfully classy, soil-driven wine with the depth and structure to evolve in bottle for decades. Extremely long and tactile on the aftertaste. |

Wine Advocate (95)The 2016 Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru (Domaine Louis Jadot) is showing even better from bottle than it did from barrel, unfurling in the glass with a lovely and expressive bouquet of cherries, dark chocolate, incense and subtle hints of smoky new oak and clove. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, ample and velvety with a deep core of fruit, tangy but ripe acids and a long, penetrating finish. It's a beautifully elegant and direct example of Chapelle-Chambertin, from a parcel planted in 1920-1921 where most of the old vines remain intact. |

Vinous (92-94)The 2018 Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru has a very attractive, pure, well-defined bouquet of red cherries, wild strawberry, sous-bois and light orange pith aromas that gain intensity with aeration. The medium-bodied palate displays supple tannins and a fine bead of acidity. A little peppery in style, with a touch of brown spice toward the finish. This is a well-crafted Chapelle-Chambertin. |

Wine Advocate (93-96)One of the highlights of the range, the 2019 Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru (Domaine Louis Jadot) mingles aromas of sweet red berries with hints of raw cocoa, spices, licorice, loamy soil and truffles. Medium to full-bodied, deep and multidimensional, it's velvety and concentrated, with considerable depth and mid-palate amplitude despite its elegant, seamless profile. |

Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (93-95)Not one of the deeper colours but with a sturdy fruit on the bouquet. Very well balanced on the palate, with a little firmness at the back. Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (96-98)(5 Star Wine) Medium deep purple. The bouquet offers great promise, not flamboyant, a savoury red fruit but with depth behind. Nothing on the nose to say this is a stunning wine but just wait till you put it into your mouth! Such an explosion of rich ripe red fruited pinot, with a plush velvet texture which covers the tannins which are surely there for the long term future. Drink from 2032-2040. Tasted: October 2023. |

Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (92-95)A blend of Abbaye de Morgeot and Francemont. Medium deep yellow. The nose is a little biscuity and a little backward. Then there is surprising weight, largely yellow plum fruit, very good fruit/acid integration, and fair length. This wine does indeed show the power of the Morgeot terroir. Drink from 2030-2038.
