  • Francois Mikulski Meursault 1er Cru Goutte d'Or 2022 (6x75cl)

    Burghound (93)

Sweet spot Outstanding. This is aromatically similar to the Charmes but with more floral influence and perhaps just a touch more ripeness. On the palate the larger-bodied flavors possess a highly seductive, caressing and plush mouthfeel thanks to the abundance of sappy dry extract that partially masks just how powerful this is, particularly on the notably more complex and tightly wound finale. Lovely and harmonious and a wine that could be reasonably approached after only 5 or so years.
  • Francois Mikulski Meursault 1er Cru Les Genevrieres 2022 (6x75cl)

    Burghound (94)

Sweet spot Outstanding. Cool, pure and wafting aromas include those of exotic tea, Granny Smith apple, zest and pretty spice nuances. The middleweight flavors are markedly finer though not as dense or powerful while flashing more evident minerality on the strikingly long finish that is also wonderfully harmonious, indeed the word Zen comes to mind. Excellent and one to look for.
  • Francois Mikulski Meursault 1er Cru Les Poruzots 2022 (6x75cl)

    Burghound (92)

Outstanding. Ripe and vaguely liqueur-like aromas of pear, green fruit, citrus confit and spice are trimmed in just enough wood to notice. The generously portioned big-bodied flavors display a taut muscularity and excellent power on the solidly long, balanced and very firm finale. Poruzots always ages extremely well yet this could reasonably be approached after 5-ish or so years.

(from a 1.2 ha holding). Here the nose is a bit fresher still with its more floral and spicier aromas of red pinot fruit, poached plum and violet that are again trimmed in wood and menthol nuances There is reasonably good volume and solid punch to the medium-bodied and lightly stony flavors that deliver fine length on the dusty, youthfully austere, firm and slightly more complex finale.

  • Georges Mugneret-Gibourg Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Chaignots 2022 (1x75cl)

    Burghound (92)

(from a 1.2 ha holding). Here the nose is a bit fresher still with its more floral and spicier aromas of red pinot fruit, poached plum and violet that are again trimmed in wood and menthol nuances There is reasonably good volume and solid punch to the medium-bodied and lightly stony flavors that deliver fine length on the dusty, youthfully austere, firm and slightly more complex finale. This isn’t particularly dense but the balance is such that it should age gracefully over the next decade plus.

Still in barrel like the rest below. Concentrated purple. Succulent yet with perfume. There is a fine tension to the dark fruit which cannot help offering its juicy dark raspberry aspect. Excellent weight on the palate, fine long aftertaste. Drink from 2028-2034.
