    (1x150cl) 2020

    Jeb Dunnuck (98+)

Lastly, the 2020 Château Péby Faugères tastes like the blood of Merlot with its inky, full-bodied, yet incredibly pure profile. Pure cassis, ripe black cherries, graphite, spring flowers, and truffly, floral notes all emerge from the glass, and it hits the palate with a seamless, silky, powerful, yet still incredibly elegant profile. It shows the more inward, serious style of the vintage, has building tannins, and a salty, iron-like character, and it has the class to benefit from 4-6 years of bottle age and evolve gracefully over the following two decades or more.

A gorgeous wine, the 2019 Château Pédesclaux shines for its pure, elegant, yet concentrated style, and it's certainly one of the finest vintages from this address. Cassis, black cherries, lead pencil, and violet notes all emerge on the nose, and it's medium to full-bodied, with a seamless, elegant mouthfeel, ripe, polished tannins, and a great finish. The purity and finesse are truly something here, and while it already offers pleasure, it deserves 4-5 years of bottle age and will evolve for 20+ years.

  • Pedesclaux 2019 (3x150cl)

    Jeb Dunnuck (94+)

A gorgeous wine, the 2019 Château Pédesclaux shines for its pure, elegant, yet concentrated style, and it's certainly one of the finest vintages from this address. Cassis, black cherries, lead pencil, and violet notes all emerge on the nose, and it's medium to full-bodied, with a seamless, elegant mouthfeel, ripe, polished tannins, and a great finish. The purity and finesse are truly something here, and while it already offers pleasure, it deserves 4-5 years of bottle age and will evolve for 20+ years.

Bordeaux's relatively diverse weather, particularly its rainfall, means that vintage variation can be quite broad between some years. However advances in wine making techniques, technology and investment has meant that many chateaux are still able to create very good wines in "lesser vintages". From the best vintages wines are made that are clambered for all over the world and mature excellently for many years. This is a selection of some of our favourite vintages from Bordeaux over the last few decades, as well some more recent ones.
