The 2020 Peyrabon has an attractive nose with wild strawberry and raspberry scents. Quite concentrated, it retains delineation. Vinous - Stephen Tanzer (86-88)
(50% cabernet sauvignon, 48% merlot and 2% cabernet franc) Medium ruby-red. Discreet, classically cool St. Estephe aromas of blackberry, blueberry, violet and mint, with a light leafiness. Then fairly supple and lush for this wine, with moderate density and restrained sweetness. The berry flavors are firmed by harmonious acidity. The tannins offer good grip but turned a bit dusty with aeration. Finishing notes of game and herbs. PauillacIn Bond£492.00
Bordeaux's relatively diverse weather, particularly its rainfall, means that vintage variation can be quite broad between some years. However advances in wine making techniques, technology and investment has meant that many chateaux are still able to create very good wines in "lesser vintages". From the best vintages wines are made that are clambered for all over the world and mature excellently for many years.
