Vinous (93)
The 2015 Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru currently shows a lot of reduction on the nose, although there is plenty of fruit packed behind. The palate is rounded on the entry with moderate acidity, but again, the reduction is suppressing the fruit at the moment. Yet it does convey a sense of purity, and the harmony is tangible behind that reductive veneer. Give this four or five years in bottle. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.Inc. VAT£632.36 -

Decanter (94)
Lively appley nose that is fresh, vibrant and elegant. With a fresh, silky attack, the palate is very elegant. This has purity and texture, with less power than some other crus but a stylish, citric finish.Inc. VAT£380.29 -
(1x75cl) 2015Vinous (94)
Pale, bright yellow. More feminine on the nose than the Valmur, offering aromas of citrus fruits, pear and white flowers plus a soupçon of oak spice. Very silky, seamless and refined but also shows terrific intensity and floral lift. Harmonious acidity leavens the density of this wine, giving it an almost weightless impression in the mouth. Perfectly integrated and balanced from the start. The impressively long, rising finish features piquant notes of citrus peel, minerals and flowers. I'd give this fine-grained beauty a good five years in the cellar before pulling the cork.Inc. VAT£117.20 -
Embark on a unique tasting journey with Xavier Monnot Meursault 1er Cru Les Charmes 2015. Produced in the heart of Burgundy, France, this exceptional wine is a true testament to the winemaking prowess of Domaine Xavier Monnot. With its origins in the vineyards of Meursault’s premier cru, ‘Les Charmes’, it offers an elegant culmination of terroir, tradition, and meticulous craftsmanship. Its enchanting profile is fashioned by an ageing process in oak barrels, where it acquires nuances of toasted almonds and vibrant citrus, underpinned by the rich texture and minerality characteristic of the Les Charmes Chardonnay grape. The nose presents a compelling bouquet of ripe apples, peaches, and refined floral notes. On the palate, it is full-bodied, harmonious, and beautifully balanced. Savour the profound expression of place and time, unrivalled complexity, and lasting finish with the Xavier Monnot Meursault 1er Cru Les Charmes 2015. Immerse yourself in the epitome of fine Burgundy wine culture.

Clerget's 2015 Clos Vougeot is a dark, powerful wine, and yet also retains striking definition as well as tranluscence. Time in the glass brings out the the wine's considerable aromatic presence, while the 100% new oak is very well judged, even at this early stage. Sadly, there is just one barrel of this juice.Inc. We found the wines in 2015 very easy and forward to taste, with as much focus on freshness as concentration, so there wasn’t a complete break from the 2014s in that sense. The hope is that as the wines mature they will continue to show the balance and classicism they displayed from the barrel. Our expectation is that they will do so and the best wines will live for a very long time with a genuinely satisfying pattern of maturation throughout their life.
