(3x75cl) 2022Vinous - Neal Martin (94-96)
The 2022 Clos Saint-Denis Grand Cru contains 30% stems this year, which is translated onto the nose distinct from Jadot's other reds: cracked black pepper and damp earth infuse the red fruit and lend the complexity underlying their inclusion. The palate is medium-bodied with fine grip and much more depth than the previous vintage, with a slightly powdery/chalky finish. There’s plenty of energy and tension from start to finish; this should age in consummate style.Inc. VAT£1,103.54 -
(3x75cl) 2023Wine Advocate (93-95)
Vinified with one-third whole bunches, the 2023 Clos Saint-Denis Grand Cru (Domaine Gagey) bursts with notes of plums, red berries, orange zest, peonies and spices. Medium to full-bodied, suave and layered, it's supple, seamless and perfumed.Expected Price Range£810 - £991 -

(6x75cl) 2023Vinous (94-96)
The 2023 Echézeaux Grand Cru has a very attractive bouquet with bright and vivacious strawberry, red cherry and cranberry fruit. Quite pure and well defined, this certainly shades the preceding Clos Vougeot. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins and a lovely rondeur, gaining weight toward a deftly spiced and persistent finish that is real class. One of the picks from Jadot this year, this Echézeaux is as good as you will find in 2023.Inc. VAT£1,715.60 -
Vinous (91+)
Medium red. Brooding aromas of dark fruits, mint and menthol. Rich and deep on the palate, with spicy red fruit flavors lifted by a note of orange peel. Finishes with substantial dusty tannins and juicy persistence.Inc. VAT£524.29 -
Vinous (90+)
Medium red. Subdued but pure aromas of blueberry, dark cherry and spicy oak. Juicy, tight and intense, with red berry and chocolate flavors accented by pepper and herbs. Offers attractive flesh and sweetness, finishing with a slightly herbal aspect along with oak and menthol notes. This should evolve slowly.Inc. VAT£396.80 -
James Suckling (93)
Crushed strawberries and hints of raspberries as well as citrus on the nose follow through to a medium to full body, salty undertones and a stoney finish. Intense and very spicy. Drink in 2020 but already delicious.Inc. VAT£499.26 -
Vinous (91+)
Good medium red. More complex and vibrant on the nose than the village wines I tasted from the Côte de Nuits, offering musky scents of black raspberry, licorice, menthol and violet. Then surprisingly fine-grained and sweet in the middle palate if still a bit youthfully compressed, communicating an impression of medicinal reserve to its rich dark fruit, spice and violet flavors. Way longer than the village wines, with more refined tannins and subtle floral lift. This lively midweight is showing the dark fruit side of the vintage. I may be underrating it today.Inc. VAT£829.49 -
Vinous (90-92)
The 2020 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Boudots 1er Cru has a conspicuous fish scale scent on the nose that complements the black fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, sappy red fruit, lightly spiced with a sinewy finish that just about manages to retain an essence of finesse. This could evolve nicely in bottle.Inc. VAT£489.12 -
Vinous (89-91)
The 2021 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Boudots 1er Cru is clearly a step up on the nose compared to the Village Cru, with much more complexity and terroir expression. It displays a mélange of red and black fruit, sous-bois and hints of clove. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins and dark cherry fruit, mulberry and a dash of white pepper. It maybe just misses the complexity of the 2020 on the finish. It should give at least a decade of pleasure.Inc. VAT£582.72 -

(6x75cl) 2017Vinous (90-92)
The 2017 Beaune Cras 1er Cru has a lovely, almost enveloping bouquet of macerated red cherries, raspberry and hoisin aromas that are perhaps the most expressive of Jadot’s seven Beaunes that I tasted out of barrel. The palate is medium-bodied with a fleshy, quite generous opening and plenty of red plum, strawberry and light marmalade notes. There is a little sinew to the Beaune Cras, exerting an insistent grip toward the persistent finish. This is another very fine Beaune from Jadot.Inc. VAT£371.09 -
Vinous (92-94)
The 2020 Beaune Cras 1er Cru includes 30% whole bunch as a trial for Jadot whose policy has always been to de-stem. To be honest, if I had this blind, I would not have said there is stems in this blend, which I see as a good thing. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit, a fine bead of acidity, taut and fresh and I do think those stems lend more freshness on the finish. Excellent.Inc. VAT£282.35 -
(6x75cl) 2023Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (90-93)
Mid purple with a lighter rim, perhaps thanks to some stem influence. This is one of the experimental plots. A mix of strawberry and raspberry on the nose, a little bit of spice, more generous behind, including some fresh cherries, a nice balance between fruit and acidity, and greater persistence. Drink from 2029-2035. Tasted Oct 2024.Inc. VAT£318.80 -

(1x1200cl) 2012Vinous (92)
Jadot’s 2012 Beaune 1er Cru Celebration is aromatically quite expressive, with lovely bright, floral notes that play off a core of red berry and stone fruits. The gracious, almost feminine, bouquet is alluring and suggests a wine that is quite open, but the palate sensation is completely different. Tiny yields and high skin to juice ratios yielded red Burgundies with huge tannic clout that obscures the fruit, which is exactly how the wine comes across in tasting. It will be interesting to see if the 2012 softens over time, or if it gains volume with aging. Today, it is decidedly on the austere side of things.Inc. VAT£1,633.92 -

Opening in the glass with aromas of sweet berries, cherries and plums framed by a deft application of toasty new oak, the 2018 Beaune 1er Cru Célébration (Maison Louis Jadot) is medium to full-bodied, deep and layered, with a fleshy core of fruit structured around rich tannins and succulent acids. It's a hearty, generous wine that should evolve nicely in the cellar. As usual, it's a blend of more than a dozen Beaune premiers crus.Inc. VAT£233.52 -
Vinous (91-93)
The 2020 Beaune Clos des Couchereaux 1er Cru has a sorbet-fresh bouquet, touches of blood orange suffusing the vivacious red fruit. The oak here is nicely integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, gentle grip, slightly darker fruit than the Theurons with a dash of cracked black pepper on the finish. Good potential, but it will require 3-5 years in bottle.Inc. VAT£287.60 -

Vinous (96+)
Good bright, full red. Brooding aromas of medicinal blueberry and menthol lifted by brilliant high notes of rose petal, mace and minerals. Compellingly deep and young, even youthfully imploded today, but this already boasts brilliant detail and energy and an exhilarating high pitch. Penetrating, powerful blue fruits, graphite, flowers and minerals stain the palate with flavor and will not quit. A great Bonnes-Mares for the Musigny lover. Should gain in bottle for two decades and go on for another two.Inc. VAT£2,300.20 -
