    Vinous (89-91)

The 2020 Meursault Santenots 1er Cru was very primal and leesy on the nose, grapefruit, camomile and kiwi fruit scents emerging with time. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, pear and gooseberry on the entry, cutting acidity with a straightforward, lightly spiced finish. Maybe just a little conservative, but this is well-crafted.

  • Marquis d'Angerville Pommard Combes Dessus 2015 (1x75cl)

    Wine Advocate (88-90)

The 2015 Pommard 1er Cru Combes Dessus has a ripe blackberry, cola and spice-tinged bouquet that is actually quite Volnay in style thanks to its precocity. The palate is well balanced with succulent ripe tannin, plenty of black cherry and raspberry fruit, almost confit in style with fine balance towards the spicy finish that displays a touch of sinew. It should drink well over several years.
  • Marquis d'Angerville Volnay 1er Cru 2016 (6x75cl)

    Vinous (89-92)

Very dark color. Lively aromas of blueberry and violet. Juicy and intense, with very ripe, sweet dark berry and chocolate flavors framed and enlivened by brisk acidity and saline minerality. This wine includes the Volnay Clos des Angles fruit, since production in this premier cru parcel was too small to make a separate cuvée.
  • Marquis d'Angerville Volnay 1er Cru 2018 (6x75cl)

    Vinous (91-93)

The 2018 Volnay 1er Cru, a blend of Les Pitures and Les Mitans, has a perfumed bouquet of very pure black cherry and wild strawberry aromas. The palate is defined by slightly chalky tannins. Quite poised and mineral driven, tapering slightly toward the finish but maintaining impressive focus and elegance. Superb.
