The 2017 Corton-Perrières Grand Cru has quite a punchy nose, one that wants to be noticed, offering copious dark cherry, wild strawberry and bergamot aromas and becoming ever more floral with aeration. The medium-bodied palate is quite sweet, featuring a touch of fig confit on the entry and candied orange peel lacing the vibrant red fruit. The 10% stem addition lends a little spice on the finish. This is perhaps more expressive than previous vintages I have encountered at this stage in the past.Inc. VAT£952.20 -

A little dark centre here with concentrated fruit on the nose, and a glossiness partly from the oak. A touch of reduction or maybe the 10% stems which have been added back. The wine is staying in very good shape because this vineyard always delivers a mineral crunch at the back. A lovely wine which holds its own here very well. I think the best he has made. The 2020 Echézeaux Grand Cru has a crisp, quite pure bouquet with a mixture of red and blue fruit, a touch of violet, maybe just a bit pinched at the moment. The palate is medium-bodied with a sappy opening, quite chewy compared to others and at the moment, this just attenuates a little on the finish. I need to be more convinced by this cuvée, at the moment, surpassed by their top-notch Premier Crus.Inc. VAT£661.32 -

Bright, dark red. Red soil aromas of redcurrant, rust and minerals. Linear and upright, even a bit youthfully austere, but with attractively sweet red fruit flavors backed up by a firm mineral spine. The yield here was a low 25 hectoliters per hectare. (Méo's Pommard, from a single hail-affected source in 2014, was too reduced to assess in November. )Inc. VAT£146.93 -

Black centre with purple rim. Jean-Nicolas finds this both upright and gourmand, a combination he likes. Flirts with 14% and stays on side. Super ripe cherries as part of the nose, kicks on really well on the palate with this high acidity which brings out the red fruit notes in fruit which otherwise wants to be richer. Long finish, and in the end the balance works well. Will need time. Tasted: December 2021Inc. VAT£97.46 -

An overtly floral and markedly spicy nose is quite restrained if exceptionally pretty with its cool array of red and blue pinot fruit scents laced with hints of orange peel and herbal tea. Here too the middleweight flavors possess a lovely texture as well as a subtle minerality that adds a sense of lift to the well-delineated, balanced and dusty finish that is sneaky long. The 2017 Chambolle-Musigny Les Feusselottes 1er Cru (a vineyard where Jean-Nicolas Méo controls everything during the growing season) has a fresh, quite minerally bouquet that shows plenty of vigor. The palate is well balanced and quite effervescent, offering supple tannin; a little firmness crops up toward the ferrous finish. Fine.Inc. VAT£867.49 -

These vines were under a fermage agreement with the M o-Camuzet n gociant arm for almost 20 years. Alas, they were taken back in 2021. So, this is the last bottling of this wine. It's a shame, because it is thoroughly charming with the dignified lightness that Chambolle often brings along with heady perfume. Here are aromas of mulberries, cherry preserves, dried flowers and cocoa bordered by fluffy tannins and suave acidity. 2022-30Inc. VAT£834.72 -
