A similar concentrated yellow, with a well toasted nose on top of more crystalline fruit. Production is higher here, with 1x 500, 1 x 300 and 1 x 228-litre barrels, all new. The malolactic was just finishing so not yet sulphured. Perhaps the more reductive of the two whites. There is a fine mineral core which stretches fully across the palate. Here too there is just enough reduction to push the otherwise layered aromas of cool red and black cherry, plum, violet, lavender, herbal tea to the background The delicious, vibrant and more refined middle weight flavors possess a lovely mouthfeel as well as focused power that suffuses the youthfully austere and compact finale that delivers fine length. In 500 litre barrel, new by Damy from the Tronçais forest. Fullish yellow as no processing has been done. An attractive whiff of protective reduction mixed in with generous fruit. Indeed, the core on the palate is quite steely despite the colour and the is enough fruit concentration to manage the undoubted presence of oak which has a light toast on the vanilla. Much like the Ile de Vergelesses, there is just enough reduction to blur the nuances of the fruit. The mouthfeel of the middleweight flavors is finer if less powerful than those of the Cazetiers while delivering solid length on the mineral-driven finish that displays excellent length on the well-balanced finale.
