(I tasted two different 375-milliliter bottles of the very deeply colored and highly concentrated 2016 Echézeaux but both of my samples finished tannic and dry owing to slightly off corks.)Inc. This has a very well-defined bouquet of raspberry, cranberry and tea leaf aromas, more loamy notes emerging with time. The palate is wonderful and delivers crisp tannins. Kind of "old school" Pinot Noir in some ways, thanks to the 100% stems, but fresh as a daisy and quite persistent on the saline finish. Superb.Inc. VAT£683.05 -

Finishes with broad, noble tannins and unflagging persistence. This captures the essence of the 2003 vintage, and is showing spectacularly today. The 2019 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Herbues was the first vineyard Faure bought, in 2011, populated by vines planted mainly in 1964. This has a very well-defined bouquet of raspberry, cranberry and tea leaf aromas, more loamy notes emerging with time. The palate is wonderful and delivers crisp tannins. Finishes with broad, noble tannins and unflagging persistence. This captures the essence of the 2003 vintage, and is showing spectacularly today.
