Vinous (98+)The 2012 Ruchottes-Chambertin Grand Cru is one of the outstanding wines of the vintage. Pure and sensual on the nose, replete with that breath-taking clarity, it dares to show more fruit intensity than the Romanée-Saint-Vivant from DRC served blind alongside. The palate is medium-bodied with tart red cherries and crushed stone, very mineral-driven with a wonderful, linear finish that is saving fireworks for those with the nous to age this another four or five years. Brilliant. Tasted blind at 67 Pall Mall in London. |

Wine Advocate (96)Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting in Beaune, the 2013 Ruchottes-Chambertin Grand Cru was showing some quality new oak on the nose that still needs to be subsumed. It is tightly coiled but it just needs time because there is freshness, definition and beguiling complexity locked in here. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, very well judged acidity and clever use of new oak lending body without compromising terroir expression. The finish feels focused and satisfying and the texture leaves you totally seduced. Class, class, class. Tasted September 2016. |

Vinous (97)The 2015 Ruchottes-Chambertin Grand Cru shows quite a bit of new oak on the nose of dusky black fruit laced with tobacco and a little sous-bois, all nicely defined but burly and broad-shouldered. The palate is medium-bodied with grippy tannin and somewhat dry and oppressive at the moment, although there is substance on the finish. Sinewy and almost rustic in style, this is almost an anachronistic Grand Cru, but one that I am fascinated to see evolve. Lo and behold, it ameliorates with aeration, implying that the future is assured. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting. |

Vinous (96)The 2017 Ruchottes-Chambertin Grand Cru has a wonderful bouquet that fulfills its potential from barrel: very well defined, precise and mineral-driven with scents of black cherry, raspberry preserve and crushed stone. The pure, medium-bodied palate offers supple tannins, a silky texture and a caressing, seductive finish that feels very tender and sustained. Superb. |

Vinous (93-95)The 2020 Ruchottes-Chambertin Grand Cru has a crystalline bouquet that articulates the limestone terroir with style. You can smell the vineyard in this wine, crushed rock percolating through the dark berry fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with vibrant red fruit mixed with spice and sous-bois, quite powerful yet somehow strict, almost to the point of attenuation, towards the finish. Perhaps this year, their crown jewel is surpassed by their Clos de Vougeot, which is not unprecedented. |

Wine Advocate (95)The 2022 Ruchottes-Chambertin Grand Cru is showing beautifully, wafting from the glass with aromas of raspberries, orange zest, exotic spices and petals. Full-bodied, ample and seamless, it's ripe and perfumed, with an enveloping core of fruit and sweet, creamy tannins. In style, it's reminiscent of a somewhat more unctuous, open version of the 2019 vintage. |

Vinous (90)Bright medium red. Redcurrant, flowers, spices, orange zest and white pepper on the scented nose. Not a fleshy style but juicy and nicely delineated, with the orange note providing inner-palate lift. Still tight but finishes with nice subtle length. The energy of this excellent village wine really wakes up the palate. Marie-Christine Mugneret noted that the estate's 2008s began with very high levels of malic acidity and finished with very low pHs in the 3.25 to 3.33 range. The 2009s will be pleasurable young, she went on, but the 2008s will be to drink later. |

Wine Advocate (89-91)From vines just behind the maison towards the Route Nationale, the 2013 Vosne Romanée has a precise bouquet, dark berries and a touch of black tea, fine delineation here and poise. The palate is medium-bodied and displays good weight in the mouth. It does not quite have the complexity of the 2012 on the finish, but still, this will be a delicious Vosne-Romanée. |

Vinous (89)Bright ruby-red. Very expressive aromas of cherry, smoky minerals and coffee. Lovely silky, spicy, mineral-driven village wine with intense flavors of dark cherry, raspberry and chocolate, plus a hint of menthol. Still needs a couple years to absorb its dusty, slightly chocolatey tannins. Dry and classic. |
