(1x75cl) 2011Vinous (91)
Savory herbs, mint, dried flowers and sweet red berries are all woven together in the 2011 Chambolle-Musigny Les Combottes. The combination of expressive fruit and the more savory notes typical of the vintage are highly intriguing. In that sense, the Combottes is a representative 2011.Inc. VAT£1,193.33 -
(1x75cl) 2012Vinous (92-94)
Roumier's 2012 Chambolle-Musigny Combottes Les Combottes is pure silk on the palate. Rose petals, sweet red berries and cinnamon all flesh out in a supple, drop-dead gorgeous Chambolle. Here the flavors are all woven together in a fabric of exceptional elegance and pure polish. What a gorgeous, aromatically lifted Burgundy this is.Inc. VAT£1,193.33 -
(1x75cl) 2013Vinous (90+)
Black cherry aroma accented by pepper and spices. Supple and rich in the mouth, with a sappy peppery element leavening the wine's flesh. A distinctly rich style of Combottes, finishing with ripe, building tannins and excellent length. Roumier normally finds this cuvée less mineral than normal for Chambolle, and sometimes even heavy. But the vines clearly did well in the cool 2013 growing season.Inc. VAT£891.59 -
(1x75cl) 2014Vinous (90+)
Good dark red. Slightly high-toned aromas of red licorice, menthol and spices, showing more red than black fruits. Much more reserved on the palate than the Clos de la Bussière, conveying strong spice character and less easy sweetness. This youthfully medicinal, fairly tannic wine finishes with excellent saline persistence.Inc. VAT£941.33 -
(1x75cl) 2017Vinous (90-92)
The 2017 Chambolle-Musigny Les Combottes 1er Cru has a very pure, floral bouquet of mainly dark berry fruit tinctured with subtle hints of pressed iris and incense. Undergrowth scents emerge with time. The palate is medium-bodied with a crunchy blackberry and raspberry opening, very natural and refined. Not a powerful Les Combottes, but focused on the finish. I would just like a bit more oomph once in bottle.Inc. VAT£941.33 -
(3x75cl) 2020Vinous (94-96)
The 2020 Chambolle-Musigny Les Combottes 1er Cru was a little more closed on the nose compared to the other cuvées, gradually unfolding with dark berry fruit, crushed stone, briary and a touch of graphite. The palate is beautifully defined with fine-grain, pliant tannins, quite tensile from start to finish with a perfectly proportioned finish. Wonderful.Inc. VAT£4,120.34 -

Vinous (91-93)
The 2021 Chambolle-Musigny Les Combottes 1er Cru has a taut and delineated bouquet, not a million miles away from the Chambolle Village but with more fruit intensity. The palate is quite strict at first, loosening with aeration; a fine thread of acidity binds together the vibrant red fruit. Airy and fine-boned towards the finish that displays just a slight attenuation. Enjoy this over the next 15-20 years.Inc. VAT£4,106.29 -

Bright red color. Deeply pitched, nuanced red fruit and floral aromas. Firm entry, then silky and lacy, with lovely inner-mouth perfume. Sweet, tangy, utterly compelling raspberry flavor. Finishes spicy, firm and quite long. Lovely wine.Inc. VAT£4,804.80 -
Vintage Tastings (95+)
was tasted. More similar stylistically to the Groffier than the Mugnier, the Roumier took the intensity and class up a couple notches form the Groffier. Beef, earth, leather, mineral, rust and spine oozed out of its reticent nose. Rich and powerful in the mouth, there were spicy and spiny tannins to complement its boatload of dark and dank fruit. This was serious juiceInc. VAT£5,493.72 -
Vinous - Stephen Tanzer (90-93)
(not chaptalized) Good bright deep red. Pure aromas of musky raspberry, strawberry and coffee. Silky, dense and rich, with the lovely silkiness of the cru. Ripe raspberry flavor nicely framed by bright, integrated acidity. Finishes with lovely fine tannins. Very stylish Chambolle.Inc. VAT£5,105.60 -
Vinous (93)
The 2006 Chambolle-Musigny Les Amoureuses 1er Cru is a vintage that I have not encountered previously. There is certainly fine intensity on the nose with raspberry and Morello cherry scents, appearing later crushed stone and rose petal notes. That Amoureuses sensuality really comes through. The palate is smooth and velvety with fine tannins. It is not the most complex Les Amoureuses that Christophe Roumier has ever produced, but certainly one of the most drinkable (however banal that reads.) Wonderful, though I would be inclined to drink it in the near future. Tasted at Xmas lunch at Trinity restaurant.Inc. VAT£4,314.12 -
Vinous - Stephen Tanzer (92-94)
(vinified with almost 50% whole clusters) Good deep red. Captivating, high-pitched aromas of dark berries, blood orange, violet, spices and minerals. Juicy, classic and penetrating, with superb cut and floral perfume in the middle palate. Boasts compelling subtle sweetness and clarity, and finishes with a serious spine of tannins and acids. A very serious young wine, very much in the style of a mini-Musigny. Should be a beauty.Inc. VAT£4,314.12 -
(1x75cl) 2008Vinous (95)
The 2008 Chambolle-Musigny Les Amoureuses is sensual and inviting. Layers of endless, perfumed fruit grace the palate, followed by hints of white flowers, herbs, mint and rose petals. The wine continues to open up in the glass in an extraordinary display of class and elegance. A clean, inviting finish makes it impossible to resist a second taste. The energy, vibrancy and freshness are first-rate.Inc. VAT£3,987.20 -
(1x75cl) 2009Vinous (96)
The 2009 Chambolle-Musigny Les Amoureuses is fabulous. The warmth of the year has given the Amoureuses a little more volume than normal, but without robbing it of its essential character. The 2009 possesses stunning depth in all dimensions backed up by the silkiest of tannins. This is a great showing from Christophe Roumier.Inc. VAT£3,999.59 -
Vinous (96)
Good full deep red. Great lift and perfume to the aromas of blueberry, minerals, lilac and white pepper. Silky and utterly seamless, but with terrific sappiness and finesse to the blackberry, floral, mineral and earth flavors. Sweeter today than the Ruchottes-Chambertin; delivers an uncanny combination of gracefulness and power. The extremely long, rising finish leaves the taste buds quivering with piquant soil-driven minerality and high-pitched flowers. A classic 2010 beauty.Inc. VAT£5,072.52 -
Wine Advocate (97)
The 2015 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Amoureuses, which contains 60% whole bunch, is blessed with an entrancing bouquet endowed with more darker berries than red; there are hints of sous-bois, truffle, cold limestone and wilted violets. The palate bowls you over, subtle at first à la Mugnier and then there is a wave of blackberry, bilberry and pomegranate fruit infused with wondrous mineralité and a killer, precise finish that is nigh perfection. Without question this is the finest Les Amoureuses in 2015 and it will give the lucky few three or four decades of drinking pleasure. Please invite me if you are even opening a bottle.Inc. VAT£3,692.52 -
(1x75cl) 2018Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (97)
5-Star Wine. A darker purple colour. Some new oak present gives a slightly lactic veneer. Then the fruit takes over – there is a lot of it, with an underlay of discreet whole bunches. My first thought was that the fruit could have been picked a touch earlier, but the development of the wine soon changed my thinking. The bouquet is really growing now. What a wealth of fruit, more red than black. This is becoming extremely good, because here all the weight is at the back of the palate. Drink from 2028.Inc. VAT£5,143.32 -

Vinous (95-97)
The 2019 Chambolle-Musigny Les Amoureuses 1er Cru is matured with 25% new oak and around three-quarters whole bunch. It displays extremely fine delineation on the nose, the whole bunch more conspicuous compared to the Bonnes-Mare at the moment, though that will easily be assimilated with time. The palate is medium-bodied with a sense of strictness and linearity and potent marine influences of seaweed and oyster shells. Intense toward the finish, though I feel that the Bonnes-Mares concludes with slightly more grace and precision compared to the Amoureuses this year (at least at the moment).Inc. VAT£6,690.12 -
Vinous (97-99)
The 2020 Chambolle-Musigny Les Amoureuses 1er Cru has a multi-dimensional nose, quite profound in terms of complexity, wonderful mineralité and tension, crystalline red fruit. The palate is full of tension and grace, an underlying salinity flooding across the finish that somehow whisks you away to a coastline, that briny note lingering on aftertaste. Profound.Inc. VAT£3,032.65 -
Burghound (97)
(from a .40 ha parcel). Here too the ultra-fresh and beautifully perfumed nose offers up pure liqueur-like aromas of essence of red cherry that are cut with a plenitude of floral, especially rose petal and lavender, spice and exotic tea nuances that are trimmed in just enough wood to notice. The mouthfeel of the medium weight and overtly mineral-driven flavors is strikingly refined while delivering equally superb length on the almost painfully intense and beautifully delineated and youthfully austere finish. Sheer class and textbook Amoureuses.Inc. VAT£2,812.92 -
Vinous - Stephen Tanzer (88-90)
Subdued but sweet nose hints at violet and new oak (40% of the wine is aging in new barrels until the September racking). Sweet flavors of red berry liqueur and new oak. Full for this, and sweet and long on the ripe back end.Inc. VAT£940.79 -
Wine Advocate (93-94)
The 2005 Chambolle-Musigny Les Cras smells of ripe blackberry, raspberry, forest floor and chalk dust. A polished, creamy, yet palpably chalky and brightly fresh-fruited palate offers a sumptuous saturation of black and red fruits with inner-mouth aromatic accents of cherry pit, pistachio, flowers and citrus zest. This shows wonderful primary fruit intensity and energy, exciting length, and the promise of continued poise and polish for at least another 10-12 years.Inc. VAT£6,139.24 -
Vinous (93)
The 2007 Chambolle-Musigny Les Cras 1er Cru has a slightly deeper hue compared to the 2000. Red berry fruit is laced with morels, pressed rose petals, leather and incense, quite complex and involving. The palate is medium-bodied with commendable depth considering the season. Pure red fruit with wonderful piquancy, hints of white pepper and clove lead towards quite a weighty and compelling finish. This surpasses my expectations and constitutes an impressive 2007 that is à point. Tasted blind at the Roumier Les Cras vertical at Medlar, London.Inc. VAT£824.39 -
Vinous (94)
The 2009 Chambolle-Musigny Les Cras 1er Cru puts in a very impressive performance alongside the 2010. With plush red fruit, red cherries intermingling with wild strawberries, this is one of Roumier's most generous Les Cras whilst it retains disarming transparency and precision. The palate is beautifully balanced with crushed stone infusing the red fruit, hints of blood orange and spices. The pixelated finish leaves you just wanting more. This might get even better with continued bottle age. Tasted blind at the Roumier Les Cras vertical at Medlar, London.Inc. VAT£1,055.99 -
